Karlk's Stewards

Structure

The Stewards are loosely structured, as series of smaller families and outcast who have gathered around the sacred spring. In which those who are not part of the stewards help around with tasks as asked by those who have been accepted into the stewards, while the stewards themselves do what they believe is best to aid in the balance of Kathlam wandering the desert for months at a time, while others stay behind to aid the wandering tribes who come by, or do the bidding of the counsel, a group of the most senior druids of the stewards.

Attendants

Local tribes and followers of Karlk who have yet to be initiated help around the spring with smaller tasks, such as gathering food, cleaning and cooking.

Circle Members

The Brothers and Sisters of the Spring, trained druids selected by their commitment from the Attendants, but must swear off their clans, for to serve Kathlam they must hold no earthly ties. Once this is done they may consider themselves Stewards.

The Councel of Three

The most senior members of the circle, they decide the overall path which the druids should be guided upon, and the teaching of new members. It is also their task to oversee proper worship of Karlk     Ibakha: holds her past ties a tight knit secret, though many know from her great ritual tattoos that she must have been from one of the northern clans of the Sjeri Waste. More so than any of the elders thus she actively attempt to guide her disciples on active issues trying to connect the different clans with their ties to the sacred spring and keep up to date on their affairs, that the Stewards may be better able to intervene in unnecessary violence.     Dogar: was once of the Dread Riders, a fierce mercenary clan something he is not ashamed by, for though he has sinned in eyes of Karlk he works to redeem himself and there is no shame in that. He is an active proponent in that the Stewards should not take an active roll in politics beyond necessary intervention. That becoming intervened in such matters will surely drag them down to a level that requires the harsher realities of the world which will destroy them as an order.     Ambaghai: Grew up among the stewards, he seeks to further the stewards aims as securing the balance of land first and foremost and to facilite the ritual festivals to celebrate the tribes Karlk and Tjatjarn.

Culture

The Stewards believe in peaceful cooperation between the different nations and peoples of Kathlam, encouraging that peace will allow the desert to heal, and that further bloodshed will only diminish the already sparse resources of Kathlam. They often try to work as mediators between parties in conflict. But understand that at times violence can only be meet with violence, such moments are occasions for great sorrow.

Divine Origins

When the mages destroyed all of Kathlam by the greed and hubris did Karlk weep for the dying people of the desert, that would be his gift, as his sadness formed the oases and his tears would be that of the Moon Drops his sacred promise that if they could all be collected thenthe Chosen People would be able to rekindle all life in all of Kathlam. Many Karith formed as great warband in order to achieve this goal, plundering and killing the cruel mages and the Kathara. It is however said in time that they realized that their goal might never be realized, for the dead and dying kept increasing on both sides, eventually the great warband splintered into many tribes, while some sought to redeem themselves in the eyes of their Karlk  realizing that they had sinned before him, they swore that where they had once only destroyed with however a noble goal, they would put down their swords and instead be the shield that would protect Kathlam and preserve what remained of the people.   They would eventually become the Stewards, who seek to preserve what little life remains in the desert and aid those who struggle to live in it, providing them with bountiful water and food by their power granted to them by Karlk.

Granted Divine Powers

The Stewards of Karlk nuture their power from the sacred spring which they guard, though the specific means are unknown to outsiders it is said that deep within the spring lies a sacred font which allows them the power to control the elements and bring forth Karlk's wishes to the rest of the desert.

Sects

The Eden Wards

A newer faction has over the years begun to spring forth amongst the stewards, proposing that they should indeed once more attempt to find a new way to heal the desert, and remake Kathlam into the verdant paradise it was before the mages destroyed it.

The Sectarians

The Sectarians believe that they must adhere to the principles upon which the order was founded, that the desert must be preserved what it is worth, as the powers that one must meddle in to restore it to life, could just as easily be it's undoing and lead to only further bloodshed.
