Ashak

Ashak is the city of inventors, a city where magic and science have become one in the same. Ashak is a metropolis but it is it's technology that truly catches ones breath. Veins of magic are seen in the streets and along the side of buildings, these veins appear to provide the power to the technological creations which can be seen all throughout; magic lights fill the streets, airships propelled by the arcane, contruct guards and bodyguards, mechanical messengers and more wondrous inventions. Ashak prides itself on it's prowess with magi tech, something that makes it unique to the rest of the known world, they are reluctant to allow their inventions to get out to other cities, though it is unlikely the magi tech would work the same. The veins of magic that run through Ashak come from a large source of arcane energy deep under the island, without being close to this source, the technology would stop working after a number of days/weeks before needing recharging in Ashak.

History

Ashak began as a normal settlement in Mazteca but grew quickly due to it's prime location in the Eye of the Desert. The city became known as the City of Inventors during the reign of Emperor Valtyv, he had all of the brightest magical and inventive minds in his Empire congregate in Ashak due to the latent magic that flows beneath the island.

Architecture

Ashak has architecture that resembles that of most of Mazteca, the houses built of light coloured stone to reflect the desert sun. What sets Ashak apart is the Artificers Guild found in the Gallery of Invention, Tersi University and Sky Dock, these building are wonders of architecture. Within the general city, each building appears connected by blue veins of arcane energy that spread from underneath the island into the streets and buildings.

Geography

The city is built on a once tropical island at the centre of the Deserts eye lake. The lake itself is beautiful though much of the islands natural beauty has been taken away by the cityscape.
