Jithandran

The lonely ruin of Jithandran clings to the rugged coastline of the Thalis Plains, its crumbling tower a solitary silhouette against the northern shores of Mar Mabon. Once a proud lookout guarding the northern waters of the Mabon Channel, Jithandran is now a wind-beaten relic, its purpose long forgotten by those who dwell in the scattered settlements far to the west. Perched on a high bluff above the turbulent seas, the tower’s broken walls bear witness to centuries of storms, invasions, and abandonment.   Constructed during the height of the Thalissian Empire, Jithandran’s foundations are deep and sturdy, built from the same pale stone that once graced the grand palaces of Thalis. The tower itself is a tall, narrow structure that once served as a signal post for ships navigating the treacherous coastlines. The views from its uppermost chambers - partially collapsed - stretch for miles in all directions, offering a sweeping panorama of the Mabon Channel and the surrounding plains.   Today, Jithandran is a place shunned by locals and travellers alike. The tower has a reputation for being cursed, its ruins haunted by the whispers of the long-dead guardians who once manned its walls. Strange shadows flit across the broken stonework, and the few who dare venture close claim to hear the mournful wail of horns echoing from its deserted battlements. It is said that on moonless nights, a pale light flickers in the remains of its upper chambers, casting eerie, elongated shadows across the cliffside.   The Jindin tribe, whose nomadic range covers the eastern Thalis Plains, speak of the tower in hushed tones, passing down tales of a hidden treasure buried deep beneath its foundations. The Jindin believe that a relic of the Thalissian emperors, a gold and silver circlet known as the Diadem of Thalis, was hidden here to keep it out of the hands of marauding forces during the fall of the empire.
