Herin Jarsath

Herin Jarsath stands isolated and foreboding along the rugged Giramon Coast, its solitary tower perched atop a line of rocky hills overlooking the treacherous Straits of Charthol. Originally constructed during the Thalissian Empire height as a watchtower and military outpost, Herin Jarsath has since been restored and repurposed by its current occupant, the exiled enchanter Arenna Semannon.   The tower is a tall, slender structure, its stark silhouette rising against the sky, visible from miles along the coastline. No road leads to Herin Jarsath; the hazardous journey must be made cross-country from Charthol Keep on the coast. The tower’s remoteness ensures that Arenna’s affairs remain largely unknown and undisturbed.   The tower’s entrance is concealed within the cliffs below, a single iron-bound gate leading into the darkened rock face. From there, a series of twisting tunnels ascend through the hillside, passing barred windows that look out over the crashing waves of the Straits. These winding passages, originally intended to house garrisons and supplies, have been reinforced and expanded by Arenna’s magic, providing the enchanter and her guards with secure quarters and secluded chambers. The tower itself is a formidable sight, its walls lined with narrow windows and crowned by a parapet that looms over the surrounding landscape.

Arenna Semannon, once a respected figure among the magicians of Argonsa, was exiled from the city nine years ago. Fleeing Mar Mabon via @curm, she laid claim to the ruins of Herin Jarsath. Now, the tower serves as both her refuge and her base of operations as she seeks to carve out a realm of her own along this wild, desolate coast.   The tower’s interior is a place of dark enchantment. The main hall, a stark chamber lit by dim, flickering lanterns, serves as Arenna’s audience chamber and the centre of her power. Here, strange sigils carved into the stone pulse faintly with magical energy, and the very air seems thick with an unseen pressure, weighing on the minds of those who enter. Arenna’s guards, loyalty ensured by her enchantments, patrol the hall and the passages beyond, their eyes cold and empty. A small force of servants, similarly enthralled, tends to the tower’s upkeep, moving silently through the shadowed corridors.   The upper levels of the tower house Arenna’s personal quarters and her library, where shelves of arcane tomes and scrolls are guarded by intricate wards and magical constructs. From the highest chamber, Arenna surveys her domain, the winds howling around the tower as if in response to her presence. Below, the lower levels are filled with storage rooms and cell-like chambers that are said to hold those unfortunate enough to fall under the Arenna’s power.   Though she has yet to make any overt move against the League of Mar Miskun or the Mar Mabon Townships, Arenna’s presence has not gone unnoticed by the powers that be.
