The Heavenly Gifts to Mankind

According to Cunang belief, the five Heavenly Dragon deities Yulian, Yinshe, Shanyan, Jubei, and Tengchin created the human species and gifted them five Heavenly Gifts: the Tree of Longevity, the Fire of the Sun, the Jade Coin of Truth, the Sword of Fate, and the Pearls of Wisdom. It is also the origin myth of the nine Fox Scholars and thus also of the sciences that humanity still practices to this day.

Summary

After hatching from their eggs that were previously thrown into the Heavens, the five Heavenly Dragons created humankind: At first, Shanyan molded their bodies from the soil, Jubei implanted the branch of fertility, Yulian gave them their mind, Tengchin breathed life into them, and Yinshe connected their fates. But they soon saw that their creation was weak, selfish, and frightened by the world, so the Heavenly Dragons created the five Heavenly Gifts: Jubei gave them health in form of the Tree of Longevity, Tengchin gave them warmth through the Fire of the Sun, Shanyan gave them values as the Jade Coin of Truth, Yinshe gave them protection through the Sword of Fate, and Yulian gifted them knowledge in form of the nine Pearls of Wisdom. They chose the creature @Urma to deliver the presents but she accidentally swallowed the Pears of Wisdom. Soon she gave birth to the nine Fox Scholars Para, Anko, Hesa, Kato, Dama, Esso, Nama, Yato, and Ito, and Yulian tasked them to teach humanity the nine sciences.
