Councils of Briar Glen

The Druidic councils of Briar Glen are the home of many druids in Wythe. Their halls comprise of the Lesser Council, where many druids progress in their training, and the Greater Council where senior members use their influence to better protect Ulnost and other parts of the world from various unnatural threats.

The Lesser Council

The most populated and transparent hall of the two councils, the Lesser Council is a symbol of potential and learning. Many druids are born into this position, while some join at a young age. Upon induction, members take the title "The Lesser" to symbolize duty and progress towards a higher position. They are given a home in the Council's halls, and begin learning from senior members in the Greater Council.   One notable member of the Lesser Council today is Vesser Rantari Highmore, known as Vesser the Lesser. A member of the Argent Company, he sets an example for those following in his footsteps.

The Greater Council

With archives dating back to the first contact with the mythical Dreaming Oak trees, the Greater Council houses some of the most powerful spellcasters in the world. Members of the Lesser Council who complete the many trials proving their abilities and wisdom may be inducted into these halls. Members are the only people in the world with unrestricted access to the Sanctum of Dreams, a fortress containing all the knowledge and history the druids of Briar Glen have at their disposal. Many members of the Greater Council do not live in their forest home; they instead roam the world in search of unnatural forces posing a threat to the realm.   Some members of this Council hold a position of even higher honor. Four members are tasked with maintaining a great magical ward placed in the entrance to the Drowned Road, an ancient pathway connecting Ulnost and Eastwythe. Ever since the fall of Eastwythe to fey rule, the archfey known as the Prince of Jet harbored ire for the people of Ulnost, looking to one day invade the realm. This ward holds the denizens of the forest back from Briar Glen, and must be maintained consistently to protect the citizens.

Chaos

During the incursion of the Argent Company into Eastwythe in search of Haluk's Amulet, Vesser the Lesser destroyed the final living Dreaming Oak tree. This act cut off the fey magic that powered the druids' magic, stopping their ability to maintain the great ward. As the first druid to discover magic of a different source, the Circle of the Voice was founded and works to rebuild the druidic councils.
