Bestiary February 2023

Hi you!
I suppose I managed my burnout risk well so far, because I'm trying to get three for three in terms of events joined/completed since I actively started using Worldanvil during the last WorldEmber. So, time to collect a repositorium of all my entries to the Bestiary we are building this February. I will try to style it exactly as I always intended my bestiary to be, from the perspective of Tyson MacBogard, a player character near and dear to my heart, from the first TTRPG campaign I DMed myself. I hope you enjoy :)

Bold Entries are done, I have put the other ones on the backburner for now. I may come back later, but for now I want to focus on some other projects.

Finished Articles:

1. Wings - Whenever I think wings, my mind is immediately drawn to dragonflies and that in turn draws me to the Circaliadae, one of my elf folk. Technically, the Circaliadae are not a new thing, but this article is! I finally got work on the Circaliadae done. I know, I can hardly believe it either

2. Stripes - This time I am making a true beast, more specifically one of the giant sea serpents of an age before Focis.

4. Shell - Carcinisation is a bitch when you live under the sea. Merpeople have to be careful or they might also become too optimized for their environment.

5. Colorful - You know how parrots, well, parrot your words? Good thing they lack the arcane capabilities to trigger spell incantations. They do lack them, don't they?

11. Purr - Youve heard of cats, now get ready for cats 2.0.

13. Shriek - At least it can't fly. But why is it so fast on foot?

17. Burrow - This prompt once again draws me towards the elves of my world. This time its the Peithopterides, the ant-elves. Eerie how close this one is to the first prompt.

20. Gentle - Because trees and springs can have feelings too.

27. Stalk - Ever feel like the forest is watching you? Following you with a gaze? Guess what, youre right.

3. Horn - Better stay on path when crossing the mountain range. Its easy to go astray and get gored. Not good for your health

6. Nocturnal - Part of the reason why you should always set watch. You dont want to become a morsel for these kittens.

7. Mythical - Messengers of the Gods themselves. Do not be afraid my child.

8. Prey - Even the most dedicated herbivores can be a danger to you if that herbivore is a professional pusher and you are next to a cliff.

9. Monstrous - Apparently some get these two confused. Wanna know the difference between the most common land based man eaters?

10. Danger - Less deadly than a Dragon is still pretty deadly.

12. Roar - A bit of a catch-all for "a wizard needed a lion but more dangerous".

14. Howl - Curses and Sicknesses galore, turning you feral to your core.

15. Tamed - The goodest bois to ever bark on this earth.

16. Pack - When you have dogs, you need their wild ancestors too!

18. Bond - Rare and beautiful, and very, very loyal if you can earn it.

19. Stinky - One mans stink is another mans pheromone attractant.

21. Messenger - When one shows up, you know the universe is watching

22. Food - Don't leave it out. You are not smart enough to prevent its theft.

23. Vicious - Is what these will be if you try to fuck with them.

24. Silent - Ghosts can be Beasts, right? Still counts as within the prompt, right?

25. Parasite - Probably by definition NSFW. Dont think about this one if youre squeamish.

26. Predator - Surely these monstrosities are just tall tales of sailors. No sea beast can be this smart when hunting, right?

27. Stalk

Now the question is this: Which article should I work on, once I come back. Thoughts? (I will update this throughout the year, once I decide to come back for a bit, so feel free to give your thoughts on what to do next)
