Ancient Tomb

The Ancient Tomb was the resting place of the artifact known as the Dragoona Ashlar, as well as the place where the Sect of Mar and the Royal family's dead are buried. At the top of the main entrance there is a damaged statue of who is thought to be the founder of Asylum city.

Purpose / Function

The original purpose of the Ancient Tomb was to be the landing pad for the Dragoona Flotilla that now makes up the top of it.    Currently, the tomb is used as a catacomb for the royal family of Asylum City as well as the home for the Sect of Mar. There are currently 15 generations of the royal family within the tomb, along with several generations of families of the Sect, whose bones are usually mixed together and buried near the slabs of metal that are bare within the tomb.

Entries

The main entry for the Ancient Tomb opens up near the main strip mine for Asylum City. There are secondary entries that run into many of the sewer tunnels throughout the city, but most are blocked as they are found due to the constant population of both vermin and Hydro Head throughout the sewer tunnels.

Alterations

The alterations to turn the landing pad into a catacomb was done when the magic in the Dragoona Flotilla went dormant. People who revered the Dragoona at that time, dug underneath the Flotilla in order to create a grave. Over time, people moved away from the catacomb and took up residence on the far side of the continent. When the Hydro Heads made their presence known to the long-eared humans, people moved back into the section of the city where the catacombs remained.

Tourists are generally made up of Dragoona worshipers who take a pilgrimage out to the Ancient Tomb in order to renew their vows to their faith.
