Moon

The moon is a unique formation that moves above the sky in a regular pattern.
It is typically associated with the night and often reflects the light of the sun.
Many mysteries surrounding the nature of this phaenomenon exist and there is much speculation, both in artistic and scientific circles, concerning it.

Geography

Since none has ever set foot on the moon, it is impossible to tell the precise nature of this formation.
The current state of scientific technology predicts that it is, quite possibly, semi-spherical in nature, the bulk of the weight causing the body to maintain the same orientation relative to the world at all times, not unlike the hull of a boat.

Fauna & Flora

Although it is impossible to know what may be on the upper side of the moon, it is highly unlikely that any form of life would exist in such conditions, with no clouds above it to rain down upon, and thus no water for life to exist.
In the case that there were life, it would have very limited resources to thrive upon, and a population too large could cause the moon to sink further towards the world.
However, should it one day become possible to observe this upper side, one might entertain the thought that remains of previous life were present, giving us insight into this curious phaenomenon.

Natural Resources

Many believe the moon to be made of some form of solidified light air, since it floats above the clouds and does not appear to dissipate into the surrounding air.
Since there is not even a known material that is lighter then air when liquid, let alone solid, ingenious minds have been stumped as on how it could be mined, although such a material would be invaluable in the manufacture of dimensional air vessels.

History

The moon has been observed to exist since the dawn of mankind, with its gentle force and beams of light dancing with the waves since the invention of poetry.
There exists, in ancient Cribic mythology, the tale of Cuatan and Luan in which the creation of the moon is described, though this tale is highly disputed.
It has remained entirely unchanged since the first eyes were layed on it, always showing the same patterns of dark and light, always moving in a complex, but predictable pattern above the clouds.
Since the invention of the megascope scientists have been able to observe its motions and surface with far greater precision, even being able to discern formations believed to be mountain-sized stalagtites.

Tourism

Although many people have dreamt of flying to the moon, many believe it to be impossible since it was not achieved during the time of the Heol-Bri, a time where the most unimginable conveniences were mundane to mankind.

Shouldn't it be a Celestial Body rather than a "formation"?

Well, the people of Tightland believe it to be, in essence, a rock floating in the sky, so it would make more sense for it to be a rock formation then a celestial body (compared to the other stars and planets that are too distant to observe properly).
