Constabulary Headquarters
The constabulary headquarters, located in central Penchester, is the primary administrative and training centre of the Cosmopolitan Constabulary.
Purpose / Function
The headquarters must fulfil various duties to keep the Constabulary functioning at full efficiency.
This includes the following tasks:
The training of Constables in various capacities
The maintenance and storage of equipment
The temporary incarceration of offenders
The coverage of personal needs for those currently on duty
The administration of the force in all capacities
The rapid transportation and communication between constabulary offices
As a result, the complex is fairly large and may easily be spotted along the skyline, not least by the presence of various oddly-shaped roofs and trevies.
This includes the following tasks:
Alterations
With the improvement of technology the complex was extended, including following improvements:
The improvement of the dovepost stations to automated systems
The introduction of the trevy towers for fast, long-range communication
The construction of a heavy-duty express information line directly to the Queen's Private Chambres
The extention of the Cosmopolitan Line through the complex, creating the Constabulary Line
During the design of these additions much attention was placed on the accurate emulation of the pre-existing architecture, resulting in a very organic-looking building.
Due to the rate at which alterations end extensions to the structure takes place, the land surrounding it is of relatively low value, with much of it being prepurchased by the Cosmopolitan Constabulary for use as park-land.
The method behind these actions are to prevent the development of low-quality housing as well as to provide enough time for surrounding estate to be put up for sale.
A further side-effect of these rapid alterations is the presence of civilian buildings within the premises of the site, resulting in some very unusual architectural shapes.
