Tuath Dé (Too-ah day)

Historical Account

The tuath dé were of the one of the four primordial races in Hárronfall, the first races that developed complex civilization. They thrived before the creation of the skyarch and their civilization collapsed when the remnants of the two moons collided with the planet. Little of their culture survived the test of times, but what survived left a large impact on the rest of Hárronfall.

They created a massive barrier around their homeland out of large trees that are left standing to this day. The mystical energies that still live inside this barrier prove that the tuath dé predicted the collision of the two moons and made steps to prevent the destruction of their homeland. This barrier, of course, failed in protecting the tuath dé but parts of the barrier still survived to guard the two races that live in their old homeland today.

Among other fragments of the tuath dé’s civilization, are a few unearthed artifacts. Some of these artifacts have purposes yet to be discovered, others are great and powerful weapons that put even the weapons created by the dökkálfar to shame. Another is a large room with energies locked inside that tear apart at the psyche of those trapped inside. The aes sídhe heavily guard the remaining artifact, and they are considered sacred by their kind.

Tuath Dé From Celtic Lore

Tuath Dé translates to “tribe of the gods”. They were the original gods of Pre-Christian Ireland. They lived in the Celtic Otherworld (Tír na nóg) though often interacted with humans. The Tuath Dé are primarily associated with nature, but have many other powers. Most records of the Tuath Dé were written by Christian monks and often tie the Tuath Dé to Christian lore, calling them fallen angels or old heroes that are accounted to have supernatural powers. In medieval Ireland, some of the major Tuath Dé became the kings and queens of the fey.
