The 5th Great War

The 5th Great war was the last great war at this moment in time, every age has ended with one but the 5th war was the shortest, lasting a mere 4 years when the 4th Great war was close to a hundred years, every major army fought in multiple engagements across the world, almost every sentient species were drawn in, even those in the Underlands and across the plains, from the celestial to the abyssal and the political spectrum shifted and was torn asunder.
At the end of the war the Council of the Light was reformed after two Ages, with members from every goodly race being represented on it in some way or another, they were would use vacant Palace and Tower of the Light in Valantaris city within the country of Valantar as their headquarters. The Wayfinder organisation was made an extension of the Council's power, guides and scouts for merchants to keep them safe, a police force for the light, and mercenary army. Only Wayfinder companies could be registered with the Mercenaries Guild. They were given powers to take even Queens and Kings to task, and became a powerful political entity themselves.
The Evil races formed their own Black Council to Mirror the Council of the Light, which is housed in Borgan city, the Capital of Shakidrona, the Hobgoblin Empire on Eskadoria, and any plans for co-ordinated attacks on the Light are approved and launched from there.

The Conflict

Prelude

Harkimo War between the Ryochi Empire and the Harkimo Orkuun, the Shadow War between the Dark Elves and the High Elves, the Ellester war between the Kharad clans and the Dvawiudizan, multiple Rebellions worldwide.

Deployment

Every army of every species were deployed in combat at some point in the war, even some of the most elite forces on both sides were stretched thin until the end, it's estimated over 45 million soldiers were deployed during the war, and there were an estimated 20 million killed, the civilian casualties were estimated to be 70 to 80 million from both sides of the conflict.

Battlefield

There was not a single battlefield because it was a worldwide war, that was preluded by multiple wars throughout the world. The Final Battle was fought on the Harnikae hills in Esira, where the Light triumphed and the forces of the Dark were pushed back into the Darkness and the shadowed parts of the world.
