Alphleatay

Alphleatay is the non-binary god of Death, Fate, and Undeath. The Church of the Seven teach that they are the embodiment of spirit in the group of deities known as the body. Their titles include: “the Decanter of Death”, “The Twilight Pharaoh”, and “The Great Undead One”. Follower of Alphleatay in the Church of the Seven are the only ones who count wizards amongst the clergy. The Clergy of Alphleatay are known as “the silent” for all have taken a vow of it. Rumors has it that there is an even older clergy who have remained since the beginning, possibly having served Alphleatay themself.

Alphleatay was the very first Archon to ever walk the desert sands of Halruaal. When humans first landed, they were the House's god-king – a necromancer who achieved lichdom. They boasted such a state of magic, they could prevent the death of hundreds of their most loyal followers by old age without even turning them into undead. Under their rule, the Necropolis (the oldest citadel in the country) was carved into the largest mountains in the nation’s southern reaches and expanded into the unknowable sands of the Necobi Desert. When the other Archons witnessed the spellplague with the death of Mystra’s, Alphleatay served as the sustaining force tethering the others together through the ordeal of their ascent to godhood – a step they were only inches away to begin with.

Of all the Halruaal gods, Alphleatay is the only one that appears explicitly non-human. Priest of Alphleatay depict them as a Jackal-headed god similar to Anubis with dark charcoal like skin. Alphleatay appears much in the same way to their followers in their dreams. The deity's most pressing features are the long claw-like fingers, piercing gold eyes, and elegant black and gold robes from the waist down. Two Khopesh hang on their waist band. Those that look upon them or are in their presence, feel the weight of six feet of earth over top of them and view multiple visions of various ways they have, or will die.

Temples to Alphleatay are pyramid like structures that descend into the ground and serve as crypts and burial chambers for the faithful. The Necropolis itself, is the country’s largest mausoleum and serves as the resting hall for all the Noble Houses, each crypt as big as a city.
