Session 3: Please mind the Gap Report
General Summary
12th of Shesti T.A. 2783
The party of adventurers spent the night fitfully sleeping in a tavern. They planned the next day to pursue one of several leads and, upon waking, decided first to sell the items they'd found in the tavern the day prior. They then made their way to the local library, the Bibliothèque Myrkan, and harassed a librarian for answers regarding the various books and documents they found in the office in the Balding Goat Tavern. They learned that the librarian has, apparently, been working under duress but little new information was gained. After some discussion, the party allowed the librarian to leave and they decided to follow up on one of their two remaining leads by traversing the wilderness to the Glitterdeep Mines.13th of Shesti T.A. 2783
The journey there proved to be uneventful but upon arriving at the mines, the party immediately stumbled upon what appeared to be a group of mercenaries charged with preventing anyone's entry. After a quick bit of discussion, Sir Tancred was able to convince the mercenaries to allow them entry into the mine. The mercenaries agreed contingent that they did not engage in any violence once inside. After entering, the group immediately engaged in violence with some of the same bandit crew that had been plaguing them for quite some time. The fight was brief but surprisingly bloody. Tal triggered a rock trap which nearly laid him low. In the chaos and low light, Krull managed to kick one of the bandits into their own pit trap which allowed the party to capture him. After the encounter, the group hid in side passageways while a group of mercenaries came by, disturbed by the noise, and once they were passed the group pressed onward. They eventually stumbled upon, not only, the mercenaries that had come looking for them but a new set of mercenaries and their apparent commander. The commander, however, was no stranger but rather an old acquaintance of Sir Tancred named Sir Elas, a renowned drunk and swordsman. A conflict seemed inevitable as Sir Elas rose to confront the party.
