    Selkie Invasion of Larazel
    Military action

    The selkie fleet of Admiral Nualoa arrived in South Larazel in 690 to build a march colony in modern-day-Zeshema. Selkie outposts remain in the North to this day, and selkie fleets have never left Garadel since.

    Ulo's Evangelical Oshkion
    Religious event

    While Zihari had existed for centuries, Ulo's creation of an official holy text and evangelical mission created a united front that allowed it to begin mass-converting settled territories

    Death and Return of Norinar
    Life, Death

    Norinar was a religious leader, healer, and resistance leader of the Zeshem tribes against Selkie exploitation during the 700s. In 720 he was hunted down and killed by Selkie forces, only to mysteriously return the next week claiming to have been given revelations by the Masked One.

    The formal combination of local cult and religious practices by Enelon the Enchanter led to the creation of the Hadina religion. While a Larazelan faith, it would be picked up in Alaran and other Garadek provinces.

    The Dragon Sorcerer Avera White-Flower launched her grand invasion of Loanua, conquering almost the entire island by 915. While her successors failed to hold the island, it was the first great external threat Loanua faced and an end to the island's peace

    Konek the Fire-Breather was a famous Pangolin evangelist of Zihari who amassed a great following from 1080 to 1100. His success created modern Zihari dogma and founded the greatest of Zihari religious structures: The Holy League.

Heartlayer Era

1100 ME 1600 ME

Named after the "heartlayer" of mineral-rich soil so precious to Prisms, the heartlayer era was a time of prosperity and heightened interaction with the outside world. Garadek culture began striving for standards of "civilization" akin to Sonev and Samvara and took increasing inspiration from those continents in their social models. It is seen as having ended when the Second Zeshem empire closed down Samvaran trade

    Adventures of Coconi
    Life, Career

    Coconi "The Golden Rabbit of Loanua" was the greatest Meako of all time and represents the peak of Loanua's Meako population and influence. She traveled across Garadel adventuring and sometimes plundering. She is a legend across Garadel and Larazel, and her tendency to bury or hide treasure hoards gave her story an obsessive following. She also attracted a great deal of attention to Loanua, shattering the fragile peace there

    Mass Adoption of Voiceboxes and Chemical Warfare
    Technological achievement

    While having always been used by certain Sonevan aquatic groups, thawing of Garadek-Sonevan underwater relations finally allowed for Sonevan aquatic technologies to spread: notably voiceboxes and mustard gas. At long last, the peoples of the sea and the peoples of the land could meet in peace and war

    Arrival of the Great Pratasam Missions
    Religious event

    With travel between Samvara and Garadel normalized and Zeshema open to trade, a massive organized surge in Pratasam missionaries poured into Garadel and South Larazel via Selkie trade routes. Funded by large states in Samvara and intertwined with Healing Alchemy and the Shekotan Healing church, the Pratasam missions formed a self-sustaining trade guild and mercenary army in Garadel that remains a force to this day

    Miza Saltskin Crisis
    Criminal Activity

    The infamous Pangolin pirate is perhaps the most famous criminal in Garadek history. After selling forged religious artifacts to the Zihari Holy League, she was able to kidnap the League's Heirophant and hold him for ransom. The ensuing negotiations led to the deaths of several forge-lords and merchant-princes, and Miza was forced to flee to distant Loanua. There, she founded the Kamalean Pirate Republic and eventually became a paladin of Emesh.

    Red Weniko Forms
    Religious event

    After many victories over imperialist and the grey priesthood alike, the New Blues of Weniko embraced their anti-foreign militarism with a new image: Red Weniko.

The Rooting Era

1600 ME 2020 ME

Named after "rooting soil", the Rooting era was predicted to be a time of degradation and decay, cut off from the world- and possible an era of diminished Prism dominance. Neither has occurred, but Garadel has gone back to developing many of its own social structures and there is less of a perceived need to be like Samvara or Sonev.

    The Law of Masks
    Religious event

    The Law of Masks was a way of closing off Zesheko from foreign influence and forever marked Zesheko communities apart from the rest of the world. Associated with the 1620 to 1810 period of Closed Imperial Zeshema, the Masks have not come off even as trade as re-opened.

    The Sarakan Schism
    Religious event

    After leaving communion with the Zihari holy league in 1680, the Ember League was taken over by a new religious movement in 1682. This transformed into a new religion known as Saraka

    The Forgeguard seize Jasarska
    Gathering / Conference

    After centuries of brutal warfare over the Dragonforges, the pacifistic Forgeguard finally seize their first Dragonforge and shut down weapon production. The Monks of the Iron Eagle set up a proto-state there and begin pushing for more Dragonforges.

    Life of Grandmaster Flori
    Life, Career

    Flori was a cuttlefolk monk born in 1800 who rose as the greatest open-palm warrior ever to grace the oceans. Transcending even age itself, Flori traveled to distant Nafena before dissapearing into the open ocean in 1940

    The Dragon Wars
    Military action

    In the Garadek heartlands, great empires of Pratasam, Zihari, and Hadina faiths clashed over control over trade and Dragon forge access in a heated religious conflict. Continent-wide total war was barely averted, but the heartlands were left with a religious cold war that continues to this day
