Strider
Striders are a generic term for enormous walking buildings in Maradia. Striders may look like buildings "carried" as if in a litter by two huge statues, or they may be huge buildings with huge legs built into them (human, spider, equine, or otherwise). These are, at their core, Empty Constructs on a massive scale.
Striders are extremely rare and constructing new Striders requires immense investment of time and resources. Knowledge of their construction is secret even within the Factories, and the distant Maradian colonies of Esedeta and Novosem do not know how to retain animation on such a vast construct (scaling the power of the artificery with the size of the construct - essential to not having it fall apart).
The majority of Striders are palaces, temples, or academies. Military use of Striders did occur during the War of Control (a vast war between the Hierarchies of Keveket, Ishket, and Heksala) centuries ago, but the most infamous uses of the technology were famously destroyed by a valiant paladin and banned by the Maradian Enforcers.
The Maradian Enforcers now operate Walking Fortresses in the joint service of all three Hierarchies. How many of these mobile fortifications/weapons platforms exist is unknown to all but the Enforcers and Lunar Gods.
Strider routes are usually very consistent for the sake of public safety. These roads, with their enormous footprints, serve as a kind of propaganda in themselves. The Hierarchies frame their scholar-priests as spiritually and biologically superior, and seeing their sanctuaries carried by stone giants gives their rule some perceived legitimacy.
"Celestial Mountain Armor", or Empty-Armor scaled up with this technology, was built but once. The art is either destroyed or lies in some hidden vault kept by the Enforcers.
