Ivek the Desmian

Ivek the Desmian is an Orthodox Desmian (or formerly Orthodox) mercenary from the distant continent of Desmia. Ivek happens to look similar to kipilu as a cat-like Haltia associated with Cat warriors. Naturally, when the Gods heard of Ivek as a feared cat-associated Haltia mercenary, the Gods sought out Ivek to see if he was some kind of magical imposter. Instead, what they found was an unpleasant man.
Ivek is in his late 30s or perhaps his 40s, and has a constant need to prove himself as a 'tough guy' to strangers. Ivek revels in violence, intimidation, and supposedly womanizing. He and his fellow mercenaries act as debt collectors and servant-catchers, enforcing the social order of Kreniko as a way to profesionally bully the weak and desperate. He seems interested in bringing Kipilu into that life with him, but only if Kipilu is willing to act cruelly to impress the older Haltia. 
While Ivek often uses his old Desmian religion as a way to intimidate strangers, his actual relationship to Desmia and Desmianism is unclear. His cat allies seem far more zealous in their Orthodox religion than he does. 
While Ivek works for Prince Mazaru Eramzir at times, he is not a loyal member of the regime.
