Druidism

Druidism is a form of nature-based spellcasting that uses the caster's meditative focus on learned holy principles to channel the latent energy left in the ecosystem by Halcyon. It originated in Samvara , where it is known as Alkoa- a form of religious observation as well as magical casting. There are two forms of druidism:   Land Druidism/Alkoa is the most common and pure form of druidic casting. It is modified by the biome the caster has drawn most of their power from (swamp, coastal, mountain, forest, arctic, desert, etc) and has only limited shapeshifting abilities. This form of druidic power comes with a curse: if one uses their powers to kill a sentient being for the purposes of amassing resources beyond what one or one's community could use, revenge, or sport, they are transformed into a living statue. For dryads, it is a tree, prisms a stone statue, humans a flesh column. The first ever of these druids was the now-ascended Lily of Red  Moon Druidism is a rarer and stranger form of the druidic arts. Through focus on a series of arcane rites, moon druids are able to channel energy from The Chimera to grant them power. This requires focus and memory over wisdom and understanding. These druids have weakened spellcasting but far greater shapeshifting ability and no limiting curse. Moon druids are more recent, having been granted later in the Divine Era to the people of the remote island of Bakuna and to the Pearl Pangolin tribes of the North and South poles.   Lily of Red is the patron of Alkoa druids; Vetka  the Liberator (born in Shenerem, Samvara in 400ME) was the strongest Alkoa since Lily. The strongest moon druid born was Kamdra the Stormbreaker (in North Boram, in 1180ME).
