Northern Masuge
This is the culture/ethnicity that the other one and some random fucker belong to. As such, it's considered older than dirt by the time of redhead.
Naming Traditions
Other names
Northern Masuge are called simply "zọ" ("child") until they reach the age of 4 or 5, at which point they are given a two-syllable adjective to connect to the "zọ" that describes them. Once they reach adulthood (or are given adult responsibilities-- such as warrior positions), they are given a new name that describes them, consisting of a single-syllable adjective and a single-syllable noun. No names are passed down within this group.
Each person recieves two names in their lifetime: a child name and an adult name. In this particular culture, it is believed that naming children undesirable or negative things deters misfortune and attracts good luck.
All children names end in 'zọ' (child), and have a (usually negative) adjective preceeding it.
Adult names are given by the elders of each village or community during a coming-of-age ceremony. They consist of either just a noun, or a noun and an adjective.

Beauty Ideals
Long hair is seen as a point of pride. Doubly so for warriors, as it signifies that they're strong enough to not have it be a handicap during combat and they're skilled enough for no-one to be able to grab their hair. After major failures, hair is cut short (this is usually imposed by others, and not every mistake is considered so severe).
A lean muscular physique is effectively a requirement. Most Masuge hunt for themselves to some degree, and everyone is trained in empty hand martial arts and with various weapons. Those whom are not planning on taking a combat-heavy role are usually only trained empty handed and with bo. It's traditional to practice each form as the sun rises each day.
