Forest of Rhofan

Overview

The Forest of Rhofan is home to a variety of Elven tribes and monsters. The only city in the entire region is Clairhof, settled after the guilds of Sherpburg reached a peace arrangement with the elves during the Treaty of the First Hunt. The elves of the region are incredibly secretive and will only deal with people from Grouce if they are accompanied by a member of the Rhonin adventuring guild. The forest makes up a large section of the main continent. The forest not only borders Grouce to the east but it continues north east running along the Beresto Mountains and south along Cijera. The nation also holds several continually open portals to the Feywild, and as such is highly restricted.

The lack of organized government and unfettered access to the Fey has left the forest as more of an untamed wilderness instead of a proper country. This lack of structure not only prevents and significant technological progress but has allowed all manner of monsters and beasts to grow in the forest. The elves seem to spend as much if not more time avoiding the monsters then anything else. These monsters occasionally make their way into Grouce and the various guilds of Sherpburg are sent to deal with them, The elves seem to appreciate us dealing with the pests and it continues to build Grouce's relationship with them. Even with the difficulties of working with the elves they are still a highly valuable trading partner. The wilderness is home to many necessary ingredients for magical items and spells. The wealth of magical items makes up for any and all short comings of the elves with the possible exception of their deep relation with the Fey lords. However even with this large risk, Rhonin and the elves are able to avoid any prolonged issues with the twisted beings.
