War can be glorious, if you win...

The newly crowned king of Raelon, King Bathorn Montcrix, was an expert tactician and general. Much of the kingdom rejoiced in his coronation, seeing him as a guarantee of a protected homeland. King_ was proud and boastful of his military acumen, to the point of arrogance. He called out many of his allies as cowards and weaklings, hurting many long standing friendships. He claimed that not even the Emperor could hope to stand against him. He made a pledge to push Plutoria out of the Darken wood and past the ghostly mountains. Once he declared war, he swept his armies into the Darken wood and won many victories. Several months after the outset of the war, things began to turn against the King. The Imperial Navy was ravaging the coast line with raids and blockades, vampirism and lycanthropy began to take hold in many of his troops, every soldier that died merely joined the armies of the dead, Dragons laid waste to supply lines, and worst of all, The Emperor arrived with the Imperial Army. The Emperor fought King Bathorn's forces all the way back to Domus. In a grand siege The Emperor faced the King in single combat and easily defeated him. Yet the Emperor spared the King's life saying but one thing: Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake. The war was brought to an abrupt end with no gains for either nations and the reputations of Raelon severely damaged.
