The Pact of Rubicon Although Hidum and Rubicon are sworn enemies, one myth tells of a rare alliance between them. When the Devourer of Stars, an eldritch entity from beyond the cosmos, threatened to consume all light in the universe, even Rubicon, the god of destruction, recognized the danger. Hidum, embodying the sun’s light, and Rubicon, representing fiery annihilation, joined forces to confront the Devourer. The two gods fought side by side, their combined powers creating a blazing storm that shattered the entity’s form. However, the fragments of the Devourer scattered across the cosmos, giving rise to lingering evils. At the battle’s end, Rubicon extended his hand, acknowledging Hidum as a worthy adversary. Hidum accepted the gesture, though he swore that their truce would not extend beyond the Devourer’s defeat. This myth is often cited as a lesson in unity against greater threats, despite personal enmity.
