Carradh Keep

In the prestigious yet somber Dust Quarter of Gloomwrought, where the city’s noble houses dwell among crumbling monuments and fading glory, Carradh Keep stands as a defiant bastion of mercantile power. While other noble estates lean into the city's shifting obsidian architecture, the Carradhs have opted for a construction that reflects their grounded, iron-fisted approach to trade.

The Keep is an architectural anomaly in the City of Mirrors. It is constructed primarily from massive beams of dark oak—a rare and incredibly expensive import from the Material Plane—and heavily reinforced with bands of black iron. The wood has been treated with shadow-oils, giving it a matte, midnight-black finish that seems to absorb the dim light of the Shadowfell.

The ironwork is not merely decorative; heavy plates and spiked lattices cover the doors and lower windows, making the building look more like a military blockhouse than a merchant’s manor. This design choice is a silent message to their rivals, House Harskel: The Carradhs are here to stay, and we are prepared for a siege. The air around the Keep often carries the scent of cold metal and old smoke, a stark contrast to the stagnant dust of the surrounding district.
