Bardschool

Once a small offshoot of Grey College, the Bardschool split away nearly a century ago over a curriculum dispute. While Grey College sought specialization, the Bardschool embraced a broader education, fostering talents that have produced some of the greatest bards of the Flanaess.

A School of Wit & Music

Despite its small size—with only 30-40 students at a time—the school boasts extraordinary instructors, motivated not by wealth but by a passion for their craft. Tuition is comparable to Grey College , but instruction is unstructured, allowing students to remain for as long as five to six years before their education reaches its limits.

A Culture of Mischief & Excellence

The Bardschool’s influence extends far beyond its size. Students are renowned pranksters, engaging in an ongoing rivalry with Grey College. Their practical jokes are legendary, sparking annual contests of wit and creativity.

Yet, the school’s impact is not mere trickery. The bards chronicle Greyhawk’s stories, capturing not just historical events, but the spirit and soul of the city. While scholars in the Great Library may record facts and figures, the bards preserve the essence of moments—the burning colors of an autumn sunset, the songs sung in harvest festivals, and the legends of the city's greatest heroes.

Leadership & Legacy

The High Tutor, Lactile Furlo, is a master bard whose ribald humor inspires his students. Yet beneath the pranks and jest, the Bardschool serves an essential role—ensuring that the spirit of Greyhawk is never forgotten.
