Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Pallas is depicted as a towering, armored figure with a face obscured by a crested bronze helmet. He radiates a "Metallic Chill"—the feeling of cold bronze against skin and the smell of oiled leather and blood.
Physical quirks
He has "Vulture-Eyes"—sharp, distant, and capable of spotting a weakness in a formation from miles away. His movements are economical and deadly, with no wasted energy.
Special abilities
- Phalanx-Binding: The power to psychologically "link" a group of warriors, making them move and act as a single, indestructible organism.
- Weapon-Mastery: The innate ability to master any martial tool within seconds of touching it.
- The War-Cry: A vocalization that can shatter shields and cause the hearts of his enemies to seize with terror.
Apparel & Accessories
He wears ancient, heavy-plated armor of a style that predates the Olympians. He carries a Long Spear that is said to be as tall as a ship’s mast and a heavy, rectangular shield.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Pallas is a second-generation Titan, the son of Crius and Eurybia. He is part of a powerhouse lineage that includes his brothers Astraeus (god of stars) and Perses (god of destruction). He married the river-goddess Styx, and their union produced the four personifications of sovereign power: Victory, Strength, Force, and Zeal. During the Titanomachy, Pallas's role is complex; while his children famously sided with Zeus, Pallas himself is often depicted as a combatant who fell during the struggle, his name eventually being absorbed into the titles of his conquerors.
Accomplishments & Achievements
- The Father of the Throne-Guards: Siring the four beings (Nike, Kratos, Bia, Zelus) who serve as the literal "security detail" for the Olympian throne.
- The Master of the Spear: He is credited in early lore with the perfection of the thrusting spear, the primary weapon of the ancient Mediterranean world.
Failures & Embarrassments
- The Gigantomachy: In some traditions, Pallas fought against the Olympians during the revolt of the Giants. He was defeated by Athena, who famously flayed him and used his indestructible skin to create her aegis (shield-cover), forever adopting his name as her own title: Pallas Athena.
Intellectual Characteristics
His mind is Tactical and Piercing. Pallas does not care for the "glory" of war or the "frenzy" of the slaughter. He is the personification of Martial Discipline. He understands the world in terms of vectors, force, and the precise moment a line of defense breaks.
Morality & Philosophy
His philosophy is The Necessity of Conflict. He believes that strength is only revealed through struggle. To Pallas, a peace that has not been defended is merely a temporary lapse in the natural state of the world.
Taboos
- The Breaking of Rank: Cowardice or abandoning one's post is a spiritual failure in his eyes.
- The Blunting of the Blade: Neglecting one's weapons or one's body, which are the primary tools of his domain.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Pallas is motivated by Prowess. He seeks the "Perfect Strike." He is the personification of the moment when training and instinct become one.
Vices & Personality flaws
He is Cold and Rigid. Pallas has no room for mercy, art, or family life. He views his children not as individuals, but as "assets" for the throne. He is the ultimate "Soldier-God," but he lacks the humanity that makes life worth defending.
