ANCIENT HISTORY - The Past Ages of Gothenya

Methanok & the Lumerian Age   The height of magic in the realms of man occurred within the Methanoki Empire, the cornerstone of Lumeria.   Grand displays of arcane magic were commonplace, as even the very guards walked amongst men and provided them mystic boons.   There are historical myths that have the veracity of truth which involve such wonders as floating cities and beasts as large as castles under the sway of the “gods’ chosen…” the Highlords. Or the Priestlords.   In this time men openly sought to dominate the laws of nature through magic, and even attempted to forge a new life on their own. It is widely held that this is the era that marks the birth of the Mironesra.   Some go so far as to postulate that the mirror and Ezra were created by human majors working with Solti volunteers, in an attempt to return them to fertility. For even the winter elves could not deny that humans, particularly human females, had a special affinity for the potential. Something they in their ultimate jealousy could not dare match, removed as they were from their homeland and font of life, Jeis’suul.   The mironesra, just like the Solti, are very tightlipped about their past. It’s conceivable that if they are indeed of Solti origin, that they may be of the Lumerian age themselves. Others think the accursed species had their memories collectively wiped, and are tortured by the notion of thoughts they cannot fully form and memories easy on their own mental horizons.     …MISTAKES WERE MADE…     The Age of the First Gift saw a world flooded with an arcane wealth unimaginable today. The Ulta saw how the Potential flowed within the weaker species and greatly hungered for the version of it filtered through the human mages. Their greed blinded them to the advantages gained by their disciples. They thought too little of their ambition. But when you give the mantle of godking to mortals, a door is opened not easily shut.   The slaying of the first aspect/incarnation of Syggos was the final act that solidified in the mind of the Ulta the danger which man had become, in plain sight no less. They would need to be humbled. But not fully destroyed. They’d become too dependent upon the Eret Si’nu refined by free humans. The more their ambitions were allowed to blossom, the more powerful, the more intoxicating, the resultant Eret Si’nu. The Potential, it seemed, reacted to desire. Something lacking in their human slaves, bereft as they were of any hope or future.   There is an inherent irony in the game the Ulta began to play. They need to create their own monsters to sate their own unending addiction. An addiction realized by the metamorphosis that elevated them in the first place.   So the god-kings must pay. But they could not fall at the hands of their own gods, lest the remnants of humanity turn on them. An outside disaster… a grand cataclysm… would have to suffice.   Ultimately, certain schisms within Celene would need to be thrown under the bus, so to speak. The gods of Chaos. The lesser gods. Upstarts. Scapegoats for the fall of the world’s first and greatest nation.   They could stand the public relations hit to follow, as the chaos lords had always ruled by fear. And what greater display of terror could possibly be employed? A justified vengeance for the slaughter of an immortal. Something problematic in itself, as it proved the gods could be slain.   No, Syggos must return. Another Ulta must take up his mantle. Only an “aspect,” they’d say, had died. They were bigger than mere corporeal entities. That was their game. Their play.   But still, the act of heresy could not go unanswered. But the benevolent lords of the Zenithal could not swing the ax. This task would fall to an upstart. Krytuss.   Krytuss would be greatly weakened by his destructive act. Weakened to the point of vulnerability. Though within the fortifications of Celene, a safe place to convalesce, what matter is this?   Chronos knew. He lived truly out of time. Where the others could dip into the quantum realm, his consciousness lived there full time. He saw the deception soon to befall them all. And the Imposter, the one who would be Rot, saw too that Chronos knew. He would have to make sure the time lord kept his secrets to himself.     The Lumerian Age…   The age of high sorcery   The first age   The Great Civilization   The Refinement   The Age of Methanokk   The Age of Lost Methanokk   The Age of Godkings Age of the First Gift (the first age)   Age of The Potential (Possibility)   Age of Ascension   The Age Consummatta   The Age Incarnate   The Incarnate Gift   Aetas Beneficium   The Appointed Age of the Zenithal   The Hallowed Age   The Vertex (via the Boorka)   The Valanis   The Vel’issinal   The Ver’alimanis
