Wedgewood Museum
The Wedgewood Museum was formerly the home of Lady Wedgewood, which she purchased after the death of her husband.
Since she had no children, and did not approve of her nephew, her closest surviving relative, she chose the leave her home to the city on her death. After being used for several decades to host visiting politicians and dignitaries, it was converted permanently into a museum in the 1930s.
The house is furnished in the manner it would have been during Lady Wedgewood's life. As well as the house itself, the museum also contains displays of her extensive collection of porcelaine, much of it in the Chinoiserie style.
