Talons
The Talons of the Emperor is The Gold Empire's most lethal secret. Composed of extremely powerful warriors trained in many different martial styles, the Talons fight wherever The Gold Emperor commands it, going to any length neccesary to secure the Empire. The Talons are no ordinary military order however, unlike the Knight Legions, as they are individually legendary heroes sent to fight cosmic threats to the Gold Empire.
The greatest secret of the Talons however is that they are composed entirely of polymorphed metallic dragons, giving the Empire a secret army of experienced and loyal dragons in addition to the dragons of the noble houses.

Structure
The Talons are very decentralized. Most talons are organized into family-like warbands, who live, fight and die together. The different members of a warband refer to each other as siblings. Most warbands take their orders directly from the Gold Emperor and serve at his right hand. Before the Hobgoblin rebellion there were nearly three dozen warbands, but that terrifying conflict reduced the number to around a dozen.
In addition to the Talons organized in warbands are a few that travel the Gold Emperor as recruiters. Recruiters will often form their own warband when they have gathered enough recruits.

Assets
The Talons have secret fortressess all around Dain, hidden in the ancient vaults of metallic dragons. These fortresses are often used by Talons only temporarily as they travel en route to their obective or during their mission, but they have formidable magic defenses and draconic guardians.
The Aviary
The Aviary is the greatest fortress of the Talons, and the only one they permanently inhabit. Situated on the peaks overlooking Aurumis, the Talons spend time between missions there training and researching. It is also here that they are first changed from their original forms.
