Adira Nasra Zinnia
I can't be the Blazeweaver like you, or like father, but I'd like to be... perhaps my own thing?
Adira is an initiate the Magaambya Academy, as a Tempest-Sun Mage. Being the daughter of two prestigious and gifted magical parents, she follows in her parents' footsteps, despite not being very magical herself.
Description
Appearance
Standing at 6'0, Adira is a human aiuvarin. She is tall and has an athletic physique, with strong long legs and tendency to stand up with her back straight. She's deceptively strong and fast, and her swift movements allow her to make acrobatic tricks in battle as a swashbuckler.
She tends to wear blue and dark brown colors that feel stretchy for optimum movement, with a strong leather chest piece for protection against any cuts. She always carries her rapier and whip, with a starblade on her back.
Personality
Adira often flaunts her athletic and acrobatic ability first, everything else second. She's shown to have a generally positive attitude towards others, often trying to bolster others into action. She's impulsive at times, and can be shown to take risks for style.
Background
Adira was born and raised in Tephu, the City of the Reed People, to Nahara Zinnia, and Abasi Nasra. She is a swashbuckler who travelled quite a journey to get to Nantambu and join Magaambya, to learn how to cast magic, despite her lack of magical skill.
As she travelled through the jungles of the Mwangi, she met with Eshe in one of the boat ferries going south through the Vanji River. Eshe makes a comment about Adira's Desna charm, and Adira finds Eshe to be a very interesting person, so they begin to converse as they travel. They bond over their mutual goal to reach the Magaambya.
As they stay at Nightfall Station for a rest day, during the middle of the night, Eshe hears the sounds of music playing through an open area near the trading port, and wakes Adira up. They find Orvin, playing on his sax. They figure out that the three have a mutual destination, and agree to travel together.
Act 1: (S:01 - Current)
S:01 - Adira arrives at the academy, alongside Eshe and Orvin after traveling through the Mwangi Jungle for several weeks. As she enters the academy, she meets Nymeria, and Rubina, and the group of prospective students travel together to begin their initiation.
The group encounters their first battle, and Adira trips and attempts to slay a watery scorpion, while the others take care of the enemies around her. She meets Takulu Ot, and begin the initiation.
After successful rounds of tests to prove to Takulu Ot that they were worthy of joining Magaambya, Adira and the group earn the title of Initiates, and begin their journey into the academy. Takulu asks the group what defines them, is there something inside them that pulls them?
Adira answers that she defines herself. She's strongest because she believes it. What she wants from Takulu Ot is to trust her in this.
Welcome to the Magaambya
S:02 - Walking around the academy, Adira is shown keen interest in many different areas of the school: The Circle was an impressive monument, and Adira showed a particular interest in the elemental energy of Air, allowing it to flow up through her hair as she got closer. As they walk by an empty field described as a common sparring ground. Adira feels excited as this is the sparring field where the Tempest-Sun mages practice, as she's being slowly convinced that may be her branch.
The group meets with Esi and Chizire, and Adira is immediately put off by Chizire's attitude and asking for them to cast cantrips. Adira simply walks towards the front door to avoid answering.
Adira spends the afternoon journaling, and meets the other members of the dormitory. She briefly grabs blankets from Noxolo and quickly introduces herself before sneaking back into her room. Once the group settled in, they all went to the dining hall with Esi.
Arriving, they encountered a spectral bison and cheetahs attacking the stalls around the hall. Adira and the party were quick to action, and slew the summoned creatures without taking a single hit. This is when they met Mariama and Ignaci. Adira comments that the bison was very scary and smelly to reassure Mariama's worry about her bison being too weak.
S:03 - During dinner, Adira was with the Cohort when the met Teacher Ulawa. After being asked several questions about the creatures, and being told it was rude of her to flip a bug on it's back, Adira was eyeing Ulawa's keen interest on Eshe's scarabs. Adira then mentioned to Ulawa she shouldn't touch Eshe's scarabs, nor harm them even if it was for science.
Before the night ends, Eshe and Adira have a nice moment of reflection of their quick friendship. Adira thanks Eshe for breaking the ice, and encourages Eshe to keep their hopes up to find a better Cascade Bearer role model than Chizire. Eshe gifts Adira a token of protection before exiting.
The First and Second Task - Duck, Duck, Ojofiri
The following morning, the group does their morning routines. Adira is the first to wake up at the earliest dawn to begin her workout routine. Adira finds Esi looking a bit nervous and unsure what to do, as she tells Adira that she saw Nymeria meditating outside, naked. Adira laughs, and shrugs, and makes sure she doesn't get too close to her own window to allow Nymeria the privacy. The group meets with Esi, who explains the tasks that follow, and the Perquisite. Then she introduces Haibram.
Haibram is an aeromancer who flies on air kites and is going to be providing the First Task. Adira is so excited about the prospects of flying that she can't help but ask Haibram if she could learn how to do that. He got excited himself and they both have a plan.
The task commences and the group enters the markets. Adira feels right at home as it reminds her a bit of the Medina, but not as maze-like. They find the stall with the chickens, and with a quick bartering they successfully complete the task.
As they return to Haibram, before they got a chance to celebrate, Esi rushes in to begin the Second Task, the pugwampis. Knowing that this would be more of a social battle, Adira sheaths her weapon and takes out her whip instead and ties it into a loop, in case she'd need to catch the pugwampis instead. This wasn't needed, as they instead go to find Anchor Root.
Adira convinces Anchor Root that they can indeed help with the pugwampis, and the Second Task was complete. Since this was already completed a day early, the group had a free day. Adira spent this day with Haibram beginning to build a kite that supports a non-halfling, and then followed by practice with him. They spend the afternoon together.
A Dream Check-up
Metasway Warning! This event is only known to the following player: Adira.
Show SpoilerHer parents Nahara and Abasi wanted to check-in on her after making it to Magaambya, noting the protective magics were hard to get through. They immediately inquire on Adira's status, and whether she's already began learning magic at the school.
Adira quickly dismissed the dream food (being used to the magic by now) showed annoyance at them trying to reach out to her only after reaching the academy, noting that their interests remain selfish. Her parents simply wanted to know whether Adira was able to pass the exam. Adira was growing agitated and made a gesture to 'try to cast magic' and nothing happens.
Adira mentions she was able to enter the academy and become an initiate with help of some new classmates, which Nahara quickly showed concern over Adira being dependent on others.
After the conversation continued and Adira's growing dismisal of her parents, Nahara grew inpatient and simply cut the Dream Council off, cutting off Abasi.
The Third Task - I'mbo, Youmbo, We're All Umbo.
S:04 - The group begins the Third Task given by Chizire to collect ingredients, with Noxolo accompanying. Adira sees in the distance Haibram doing flying lessions on his kite, and she shares a glace at Noxolo who is also eyeing the lessons as well. As the bones were the first to be found, the group decides to venture out of the academy and Nantambu, to enter the jungle to locate the Scarlet Caps.
Adira expresses her excitement and filled with anticipation about the adventure ahead of them. This is her element, so she's staring up into the canopy, and looking at the fauna in awe.
The group arrives at a large clearing, where a tree in the middle was found, with growing scarlet red mushrooms. Both Adira and Eshe take up the task to climb the tree. Both of them their own techniques, Adira crushes up some chalk to allow for better grip, Eshe using their mirror to teleport from branch to branch. Being 60 feet up in the air, Adira and Eshe begin to collect the caps. Adira feeling the rush asks Eshe how they're doing, and Eshe feels they may have miscalculated the height. She laughs, and as she tries to grab a mushroom, the mushroom comes to life. "Umbo?"
Adira, nervous, says hi to the creature. Suddenly, huge stomping is heard, and the giant mushroom Umbo attacks. Adira jumps down from the tree, grabbing one of the large leaves and floats down, landing on the creature's head. She does her finesse fighting and helps slay Umbo, not without taking a massive punch and being infected with Purple Pox.
Regardless of Adira's physical fortitude, Adira's mental is usually her weakest, as she's behaving very sickly and befuddled. She finds a banana in the clearing and saves it for later. (She forgets about it and it rots away. )
S:05 - The party collects the final ingredients, and Adira and Rubina's wounds are treated by Uduak. The group then helps with the Third Task, and Adira helps crushing up the mushrooms to collect all of the different oils to finish the Ritual's chemical component.
As Chizire begins the Ritual, Adira contributes by intimidating the spirits into the bells. The Ritual is complete, successfully, and that ends the Third task. Both Noxolo and Adira rush off to join the last part of the flying lessons.
That night, Adira takes a moment to connect with the talisman given to her by Eshe, and attempts to be more willing to receive another dream council from her parents, to no avail. She begins to feel a little bad about how she ended the last conversation.
Flying Lessons - Love Letter
Hidden under the spoiler
Show SpoilerIt's no surprise that seeing a person literally flying through the air, you could tell Adira was excited. So excited by the prospect that falling could be optional. She jumped at the opportunity, immediately forgetting whether she actually could do this. So at the lesson itself, she was nervous about it. She tried to make sure she at the very least practiced the moves, and tried to be a good sport if she fails (attempting to be stylish as she does.). (Her performance roll of 17.) She finds Haibram’s attitude to be aligned with hers, someone who definitely seeks the excitement out of the everyday, and it makes her decisions towards which branch to follow harder.
That being said, she thinks the attendants are quite fun. Adira would love to learn more about Esi and Mariama as the Tempest Sun Mages sounds like it’s up to her purview… but then again, the Emerald Boughs could be her ticket to explore the world. In terms of her opinions of the rest, she has seemed to keep to herself her opinions on them. She is obviously enthused with both Haibram and Anchor Root. Chizire’s first impression for Adira was not the best, and it’s hard for her to fix her face around him.
But she’s trying to be a good sport about it. For the party, if you were to look at Adira closely, you’d see flashes of interest all around, almost as if she can’t make up her mind on where to start first, but within those moments, some of you may notice moments of pause for her. As if something stops her from making a decision. You know she’s been shown to be usually first to move in certain things, and she certainly loves to fight, but something giving her pause almost seems odd. The only thing she immediately had zero thoughts about was the flying lessons.
She probably spent the remaining time of the day ensuring she had enough supplies for whatever lessons the school was going to bring her, and of course, she couldn't make up her mind either. Inspirated always by her uncle, she picked up some thieves tool, and an onyx panther to better serve her moves.
The Fourth Task - Cohort's Divine Delivery Service
The party heads towards the Fourth Task, by Ignaci and Strands. It's mail delivery time, and the party will be on Elephant Birds. Adira has never road a bird before, but Rubina helps Adira up onto the bird.
The group travels through Nantambu, and Adira takes one of the more physically challenging mails to a man named Alric who notes Adira's rapier, and begins to teach Adira some fencing techniques (all of which Adira already knows) and Adira navigates the conversation graciously.
The group delivers a letter to a God, whom requires an egg to be swallowed. Another letter requires spells to be casted, and another sent to Gozrah, up in the sky. Adira uses her skills in kite making, and cobble together a way to send up the letter by Adira coaxing it up into the sky.
The final delivery is to a hut very far from Nantambu, the hut of a Green-eyed Witch. The hut however was infested with giant slugs trying to kill the witch within, and a cat! Adira and the party come in and slice and dice some slugs ("Yes chef! Behind! Re-fire!") and save the cat and the witch.
The door opens and reveals Green-eyed Jatya, a harpy woman.
S:06 - The party introduces themselves to Jatya, who then explains to us why she's so far out of Nantambu. Adira finds her charming if not a little unsettling. She's gifted a potency crystal for her sword since Adira is so good at killing, she can even be better at killing, to which Adira under her breath corrects that she doesn't necessarily just... kill... like that.. but.. she just drops it as Jatya moves to other tasks. Adira also takes the Mudlily.
Adira overheard the conversation with Jatya and Eshe about what they said and how something is following them. Eshe expresses that they aren't willing to talk about it now, so Adira drops it immediately.
As the party returns from a successful task, the group is treated to a feast by Ignaci and Strands. Adira takes a bit of the soup that Strands made and loves it, and asks for seconds, much to Strands' relief. After dinner, Rubina approaches Adira and wants to check if the gift given to her by Jatya is cursed. She double-checks it, doesn't see that it has any curse, and hands it back, but Adira was actually planning on giving it to Rubina. Rubina gives Adira a hug (which, stuns Adira a bit) and they both awkwardly walk back to the Spire Dormitory.
The Fifth Task - Stories for the Uzunjati
The following day after an uneventful and restful and even really relaxing night for Adira, the group heads to the final Fifth Task. They meet with Okoro and Esi, whom they must tell a tale for the Uzunjati.
Adira begins this task by her own, kind of a story. The story of a girl who hails from a distant land making a promise to come to the Magaambya and do something that she doesn't know if she can. She believed that she would have to cast magic, and show promise as a sorceress, but she sees that, with meeting her classmates, she hasn't had to do much of that. Coming to this space and meeting such interesting people, she realized that they all have incredible stories, and that all the stories are unique and surprising. She expected to come and feel like a failure, but found that they have been feeling nothing like that! she thought she would have to cast magic and be a powerful sorceress daughter, and that she hasn't had to. She wants to take this story, and once its finished, she would like to share everything that is going to happen, because she is very hopeful. More so than she has since arriving.
As the rest of the group tells their story and finish the task, they all decide on the Branch they will pick. Adira joins Orvin and Rubina with the Tempest-Sun Mages, and teases Esi for not having a bead ready for her. The group travels in tandem to the Introduction Ceremory, where they find Mariama in a pool of her own blood, and the ambush begins.
Adira and the party quickly get rid of the threat, only after receiving a massive blow to the side of her chest from the creature. They successfully capture Kurshkin.
The Knights of the Broom Closet
S:07 - As they wait for the Pugwampi being interrogated, Adira decides to do the interrogation. With a successful interrogation with the aid of Eshe and Orvin, they get just a little bit more information. Teacher Ot shows concentrated concern over Adira's words, worried she may take it too far, but Adira was bluffing.
The group is escorted back to the Spire Dormitory by Mafika (who provides the Tempest Sun Mages bead to Adira), and Adira reassures the group that we should look after each other. She invites everyone into her room. Once the group settles in, Adira begins the meeting to unpack the situation at the academy.
The discussion goes back and forth on what could possible be plotting against the Magaambya, enough to attack during the introduction ceremony. Some make insights about what could've happened, others had their own questions.
After a few minutes of discussion, the meeting is adjourned, with every a little more comfortable that we're looking out for each other.
Three Months Pass By: Autumn Arrives.
Adira spends her time focused on her studies, she focuses on being a Tempest Sun, and works on her strength as she begins to lift heavier things. She tries to make some money in Nantambu, but ultimately, not a lot of business in being a guard at the moment.
S:08 - General practice is being held at the sparring field in front of the Spire Dormitory, free time for students to hone their skills. Orvin and Adira are practicing with counters with each other, Adira rushing to stop Orvin from casting a spell, and being glittered by the spell before she's able to. After their third attempt, Adira says they should rest and sit, and that noted Mafika to walk over.
Teacher Mafika gives a few pointers to Adira, that it's correct that they should try to find ways to stop a mage from casting a spell, such as grappling, or other wrestling moves. Teacher Mafika demonstrates this on Orvin, who is quickly taken down. Orvin, taken aback by this display, breaks a little, his face cracking . He recollects himself in time for Mafika to teach him more about the shield spell. Uduak Basni appears to Adira and Orvin, telling them that the couple (Noxolo and Nymeria) have run off to the library looking for Rubina and Eshe as something bad has occurred. Adira and Orvin rush off to find them.
At the library, Adira was represent when Tonali manifested in front of the group for the first time at the Elephant Museum.
After a conversation about the event, the group goes to their planned visit to Teacher Ot, whom had a task ready for the Anteart Cohort. Teacher Ot mentions a status update on Kurshkin, and their plans for him. He continues with the plans to investigate the Tree Stump Library as shadows have been reported to be seen within the abandoned library, and has requested for the group to go retrieve some lost materials. The party leaves Nymeria and Teacher Ot to speak in a Silenced room. Both Adira nad Orvin search the Elephant Museum to locate Kurshkin, and observe Teacher Ulawa speaking Kholo to Kurshkin in the cage. They then leave when another person walks by.
The Tree Stump Library Investigation
After some shopping, the group reconvenes at the Tree Stump Library to begin their investigation. Adira unlocks the door swiftly, which had everyone curious as to how she knows to unlock doors. The group enters the library. After a bit of exploration, the group encounters a group of Scrits who all attack, and the fight ends with success, and finding one of the items needed. The Adira finds a pair of bracelets. Adira, without realizing, begins to sense a hum of magic on the items, and she realized she just casted a cantrip. Excitedly, she rushes over to Eshe, whom then cast Detect Magic on the item and identity the pair of bracelets, and Adira keeps them for now.
A heavy thumping occurs from one of the doors, and the next battle begins.
S:09 - A series of battles occur within the Tree Stump Library, and each room had some level of investigation. Several Wasps, a swarm of silverfish, and lastly a large slime.
With the first door that had the wasps, hive made of paper-like material covered the room. The hives were broken to avoid any issue, and one of the books was found. Rubina and Adira recover from their wounds, and they visit the next room. It was too dark for Adira, but the group enters and find books scattered about and furniture, and a cauldron lined with onyxes. The cauldron was saved for Noxolo as it is discovered to be used to communicate with the dead via spirit (alcohol). Here is where the party met with spellskeins that were hiding in the room. They were collected for safe keeping. As the party continues their search, they find a swarm of silverfish that were eating the spellskeins and other paper. They find another book, and move to the next room. The room was locked magically, and Adira was able to crack the lock.
There was a shape of a body made of ash in the middle of the room. The remains of a person who was locked in the room, who was imprisoned by spellbinding shackles with Thasolonian runes. A list of people in a piece of paper, "I must return post haste, These ones must die before I leave - Takulu Ot, the woman, her man, Janatimo, Nahara Zinnia, and Nasra, the coward." Adira was shocked that her parents were involved in this kill list. The group knows a little more about the Nasra Zinnia family. Eshe asks Adira if her parents owed anyone, and Adira doesn't know much. She knows however that the ritual used to free themselves from the shackles led to the death of this individual. The final fight with an ooze ends successfully after Adira and Rubina take a lot of damage, with Rubina falling unconscious.
S:10 - Rubina recovers from their wounds, and the party has finished the final portion of the investigation. Orvin and Nymeria collect ooze samples. Adira finds the final book and hands it over to Eshe, and Nymeria offers to heal Adira's wounds. The group leaves the library and go direct to Teacher Ot.
Teacher Ot welcomes the group back, and the cohort explains all that transpired. The books are returned, then handed back to the group for each person. After everything was said and done, Adira provides the additional information about the person who was dead in the room. Ot's behavior noticeably changes, and begins to explain about the original Cohort years ago when he was in his own group. Adira was so confused by how her parents never told her anything about the Magaambya or when they were in their cohort. She asks Teacher Ot to send a message over to her parents, to try to get them contact her since the last dream visit months ago. Adira leaves, noticeably running back to the Spire Dormitory, Nymeria follows after.
Distressed, Disorientated, Disorganized.
Show SpoilerAdira struggling to come to terms with with intensity of the story, and feeling as if she calls her parents cowards for leaving. feeling a split between her actual mother and the story book version. Concerned that her parents were adamant on having Adira attended despite the experienced danger from before. Wondering if Musarasa being dead was known to her parents or not. Adira searching for answers, and then realizes how much of a show she's made. Nymeria holds her hand, and they have a moment together. Adira expressing thanks for the sincerity from Nymeria, and expressing that she misses her Uncle. Nymeria expressing some concern about Tonalis's appearance as well. Adira expressing to Nymeria to trust in what Tonali says.

Nahara expressing that Adira's uncle has not returned. Only getting the short response of "thx". Adira is asked to keep her uncle as long as possible if he shows up at the school. THEN it became about the cantrip.
Three Months Pass By: Winter Arrives
During the next three months, members of the Cohort investigate leads on the past events they've experienced, answers to mysteries yet to be understood. Adira tasked herself to find out more about her father's cohort. Masarasa being a Magus, and she learns the names of Lyrissa (Lyric) Eri, and Adira's father a wizard. She learns that Ulawa may know more as well.
During Crystalhue, Adira gave gifts to Haibram, and her cohort.
The Starday Tournament
S:11 - Before the Starday Tournament, Adira received a message from her uncle. The message made of papyrus, that looks like it has been stomped on intentionally. A broken stone from a river (a whetstone). A bottle of oil to protect leather products, and a letter from her uncle. "I didn't write the letter fast enough sorry" Adira is beaming while writing and remarks on how she needed the stone and oil, and remarks on being able to report her uncle's contact. After Adira collects herself from being so emotional, she goes to help organize her group to prepare for the Starday Tournament, and helps find Noxolo so that they can join in on the other team being made from the same dorm.
The tournament begins, and Adira watches as groups fight and fail against the wooden robots. She sees her own Spire Dormitory members get decimated on the second battle, and she felt more inclined to win than ever. Seeing her friends get hurt really made her angry. Before the fight begins, she gives a pep talk to Nymeria who was noticeably worried. Once the team is mentally prepared, the fights begin for the Anteater Cohort.
They win flawlessly against two battles, and now the third and possibly the most difficult challenge of them all begins.
S:12 - The team is victorious against the automaton, and the other members of the dormitory approach to celebrate and praise the party members. Mafika approaches and told the party to meet with him later for a reward. The party members split up to engage with various people. Adira takes time to connect with Strands and her two children and seeing how they liked the show.
Later on, Haibram and Adira going over tricks and moves tied to Aeromancy. Haibram and Adira doing shennanigans with their kite and attempting tricks. Adira leans into Haibram's training and asks about what it feels like when he is casting magic. A feeling of cleverness that becomes movement, motion, and light. Haibra reporting that the has been casting magic since he was 12. Adira looking away at that comment, carrying sadness at hearing an answer that she expected. Haibram bringing up his concerns on making Adira upset. Leaning into the fact that Adira has been able to cast a cantrip, and confirming that he is in fact not able to cast the spell that Adira has been able to. Adira agreeing that everyone has their strengths, but she still wishes that she could cast magic more. Haibram sharing that his second mom and his third dad did not have connection to magic. Explaining that his mom had never felt guilty "there is magic in everything, but there is a particular kind of spell that only a rare few can cast. those that have it do not always realize the value the spell has. Laughter a smile. If you make us smile and laugh, that is a magic that everyone will remember for the rest of their lives." Adira sharing that Haibram has that type of magic as well, and explains how she feels that we have such a special cohort. Finding out that Chizire has only glowed up since Eshe and Nym have been turning to him for answers. Haibram explaining that many cohorts are not as fortunate and have seen a 30 (THIRTY) year old woman pulling another's hair. Adira does the form to try and cast mage hand, but unfortuantely is not able to do so. Haibram jumps up though to give a high five (expectig thats what the movements were for) Haibram is tossed over the dorm and crashes, laughing all the way. Adira smiling and states to herself that this is the exact opposite of what she expected it would be. Adira taking part in the excapades, unfortunately it goes disastorously as Adira comes crashing down.
Later on Adira having been talking with Haibram until he gets tired. Nymeria having Esi melted into the grass getting comfy and looking for assistance to carry Esi's body bac into the dorm for bed. Adira stopping by to see what happened. Adira picks up Esi up like a handbag, and starts to walk with Nym back to the dorm. Nym waterbending the vomit into a ball to clean up. Nymeria giving Esi a ball of water, and Esi takes chomps out of it. Esi having poorly done braids all over their head from Nymeria. Adira and Nym taking time to make sure that Esi is taken care of for the night. Nymeria saying that their loved ones had not been big into drinking before and has been keen on getting the experience. Adira asking the double barrel question of what Nym and Esi talked about. Nym sharing that there was a main topic, but that she will likely need to meditate on it before talking more.
S:13 - A week passes by from Longnight, and The Anteater Cohort is at Ulawa's office to ask some questions about their investigations recently. Ulawa theorizes that the Vessicant Egg can't possibly be controlling the insects as she has a working theory about mites, but Orvin questions this reasoning as well. With Adira's help in terms of the recent findings at the Tree Stump Library, Teacher Ulawa agrees to give us tasks to investigate further. Before they leave, Adira takes time to ask Ulawa about the ocelot cohort (with her parents) and what Ulawa might have known about the goings on. Ulawa explaining that she has such a great memory but that she does not know much about the "murderous one", Adira's dad was "not nice words", Adira's mom was "overbearing", and Teacher Ot was "Ot". Nymeria can tell that Ulawa is putting a little bit more kindness about Adira's mom than how Ulawa really feels. Ulawa saying that Teacher Ot just needs time to work through his current concerns, and that she will let us know if there is anything else that the party can do to help teacher Ot.
With Anchor Root's help with the antidote for the centipedes, the team is off to do the tasks.
With their investigation on their way, they stop by the Greenhouse to investigate an issue with Wood-eating beetles. Adira introduces herself to Thema, which she recognizes from her classes in the Rain-Scribes. They see that the beetles are actually carving out a rune of conjuration. Adira senses that the bugs aren't magical, and no remnants of magic are seen. The group leaves with the beetles, and Adira mentions she'll have to take classes on this subject, which Thema mentions the carnivorous plants they're going t o be feeding.
The group arrives at the dining hall, where they meet Esi helping the initiates with the mite problem. The group investigates the kitchen, which they find Ignaci hiding from swarms of the centipedes they were tracking down. A fight goes down and they're victories, but have taken pretty heavy hits.
