Session 8 - "God May Judge You But His Sins Outnumber Your Own"

Last time...
"Last time, on Strength of Thousands…After the ambush at the Introduction Ceremony, the Anteater Cohort stayed nearby as teachers and other students flocked to their aid. Once the pugwampi, Kurshkin, was under control, Ot and the other teachers had trouble getting through to her—a trouble that Adira, Eshe, and Rubina did not. After bidding the gremlin speak, they received information about their master, the Ghost: resplendent, buried, and powerful. On the walk back, Teacher Mafika introduced himself to the Tempest-Sun Mage hopefuls and provided them his special bead.Afterwards, our heroes returned to the Spire Dormitory and called an impromptu meeting. Gathering in Adira’s room, they each affirmed their determination to remain here and swore to keep each other safe. While none of them have enemies per se, they agreed to remain vigilant. Three months passed. As everyone’s studies deepend and autumn arrived in earnest, each member of the Ant Cohort set out on their own. Orvin broke off to visit Nyota at ArcaniCo and met Asanda; Rubina researched into the strange ‘egg’ from her dream. As Eshe arrived to talk faith, they discovered Rubina had been looking into a strange Mwangi relic called the Vesicant Egg and recalled their scarabs whispering the very same word. At the same time, Nymeria felt an eldritch, rotting presence grow closer behind her… growling, closer… closer still…!'
Session 8 Notes:
Welcome back students.
We begin with Nymeria having their poltergeist doppleganger still creeping behind them. Noxolo and Uduak approach unable to see this spirit. Nymeria , losing this spirit somehow, Noxolo takes Nymeria's hand and removes them from the situation.
Nymeria is told that teacher Ot was looking for them, and Noxolo and Nymeria make their way to the library. Nymeria and Noxolo meet up with Eshe and Rubina at the library after the Vessicant Egg research setting. Rubina still struggling with feeling lost around the mystery of this egg, but expressing their appreciation for the support and guidance in resolving this mystery.
Nymeria, dissociating, is observed by her friends Eshe and Rubina. Eshe attempts to get a read on Nymeria and what is impacting her. It is learned that Nymeria is bringing about an Eidelon, that being what the spirit likely was. Finding that Nymeria has the mark of a summoner, this mark meaning that the two beings are related. And what appears, is just a lil guy!!!!!! who disappears just as quickly as it arrived.
We switch scenes to the field in front of the Spire dormitory where class is in session for the tempest sun mages Adira and Orvin. They are practicing for Adira to learn to counter mages attempting to cast spells. Orvin wins the first round, and Teacher Mafika comes over to offer some pointers to Adira to try grappling the spell caster, practicing on Orvin and taking him down immediately. Orvin's face cracks at this occurrence, and teacher Mafika takes time to teach Orvin more about the shield spell. Adira successfully knocks down Orvin in the next round, and he seems to have a vein bulging on his forehead. Uduak appears to inform Adira and Orvin that the couple Noxolo and Nymeria had ran off to the library after something bad happened. The two take off to find their friends, and to ensure the blossoming relationship is safe to continue growing.
Nymeria within the library is approaching the lil guy. Seeing a symbol of Flowers on Nymeria's forehead and the lil guy's forehead. The being speaks out in common asking if the party is friends. Tonali is fucking back, and god help the fool to try and remove him again. (you will never be forgiven Bowdi). Nymeria sees tonali become a desecated creature every few seconds, while the rest of the party only sees Tonali as the happy lil guy full of life. Noxolo confirms that they are able to see that Tonali is fading from near death to life through the use of a spell. Nymeria appears to be having a difficult time working through this situation and retreats. Eshe appears with a book on Eidelons and trying to identify whatever information that they can. Learning that this Eidelon is a phantom, manifestations of strong emotions. A spirit of ideals that have taken form. What Tonali is now is something in between. You could find another being like this out in the bone yard. Neither life or death, but something in between. Nymeria expresses that they should not be able to do any summoning. the party takes time to comfort and clean up the library before making their way out to teacher Ot's office.
Teacher Ot is a bit of a slob in his office within the Elephant Museum with stuff all around the room. Teacher Ot notices something off with the party and asks what occurs. The party delays this conversation and Teacher Ot gives us an update on what happened with the gremlin. We are informed that Kirshkin is being sent back to their home plane within the next couple of days. We are made aware that a few places on campus are not up to par for Teacher Ot. We are told the tree stump library has been utilized as storage for a lot of stuff, but have been informed that shadows have been seen coming and going to and from the library. Teacher Ot wants us to recover some materials from the space, but also to see who is exactly is coming and going. Being told that lights may be needed as the windows are boarded within. The party agrees, and Nymeria and Teacher Ot take time to discuss what happened with Tonali. Teacher Ot offers to contact his colleague who is also a summoner. It would take a few days, but could offer some peace. Teacher Ot offers Nymeria a book on Ghorrans to hopefully help Nymeria further understand if Tonali is acting as a n Echo from its previous life.
Adira and Orvin make their way through the museum to find Kurshkin. Arriving at the Entymology lab of Teacher Ulawa, the two found Kurshkin inside. teacher Ulawa and Kirshkin are talking in Cholo, while Teacher Ulawa continues to remain behind the chalkline and throwing meat as a reward of some sort. Someone sounds to be approaching in the hall, so Adira and Orvin return to teacher Ot's office to wait for Nymeria.
the party makes their way after shopping to the tree-stump library that appears to be abandoned. Finding that this space has been struck multiple times by lightening. We find that the bells that Chizire put up have been thrown to the side and that the door has been kicked in and hastily put back together. Eshe taking a look at the bells it appears that there are finger prints, but that it repelled whatever grabbed them too. Scorch marks present on the bells as well. Through critical success Adira opens the door and the party finds the libraries books thrown onto the floor as far as the eye can see.
Several Scrits appear and begin to try and infect the party with stinkin ink. Through Rubina's Holy chopping, Eshe's bonking, Nymeria's boomerang, Tonali's maw, Adria's rapier, and book holders Orvin found/ the Scritters are no more.
Rubina begins to attend to the wounded, as well as Nymeria. Adira looks around the space and is able to find a matching set of silvered braceletes, that she is able to successfully cast magic to see if the bracelets are magic! Eshe takes the time to cast Detect Magic where they are able to find a bookmark tucked away in an Encyclopedia that happens to be a spell scroll!!!
The party seems to be able to find one of the books that Teacher Ot requested!
While The PCs were having a discussion about the presence of demons on campus, a heavy thudding began on the otherside of the double door they were near.
