Lord Velvet — also known as Elixir, and the Blade Seldom Seen — is a God recognised by the Church of Eighteen Eyes, believed to rule over the domains of Cities, Indulgence, Secrecy, and Wealth. Lord Velvet is a languid and luxurious God, who favours those who savour the finer things in life, seeing the world in terms of "winners" and "losers." To Lord Velvet, if you are not actively benefiting from a situation, you are being played and losing out on an opportunity. However, Lord Velvet is fickle, and is known to withdraw Their support for the slightest of insults, so Their followers do well to pay attention to the world around them, hoping to catch glimpses of the whims of their patron.
Lord Velvet is a favoured deity of merchants, politicians, socialites, artists, and hedonists, though They are called upon by all folk seeking succor from a hard day of work, or from the monotony of servitude to those who sit on fancy cushions all day...

Elixir

Elixir is an aspect of Lord Velvet who focuses on indulgence and vice, but also on alchemy and medicine. They are the patron of many hospitals funded by the wealthy, as well as places of vice like pubs, opium dens, etc. Elixir is deeply invested in the altering of experience and state through foreign substances, whether that be changing the sick into the healthy via medicine, the living into the dead via poison, lead into gold via alchemy, or the ignorant into the enlightened through hallucinogenics. Due to Their transformative and addictive nature, They are often favoured by those wealthy enough to chase Their 'gifts,' and who in turn may fund the furtherance of Their sciences.

The Blade Seldom Seen

The Blade Seldom Seen is an aspect of Lord Velvet who focuses on assassination, murder, and misdirection. They are an officially outlawed yet widely worshipped aspect of the God, specifically among the nobility, who pray to Them both out of protection and for assistance in their own schemes. The Blade Seldom Seen is believed to be something of a kingmaker — toppling power structures and enabling the rise of others — and as such has been called the "Mother's Consort." Cultists of The Blade Seldom Seen take great offense at this framing, and rather call Mother Make Me "The Blade's Bedfellow" as a retort.
The Blade Seldom Seen is — perhaps ironically, given Their name — one of the most widely "witnessed" Gods upon Syvat, as They are known to manifest directly within Harmony when invoked by worshippers to perform some killing. To do so is incredibly dangerous, however, as They are known to always complete Their assassinations, and then return for the lives of those who summoned them.
Scholars are divided on the fate of those slain by The Blade Seldom Seen, with some believing such individuals are taken by the God back to Symphony. Some scholars even believe the fate of those who summon them is to be turned into a Saint, and many cults have sprung up worshipping said individuals — known as "Sin-Martyrs."
