Erona, Goddess of Storms

Goddess of Storms Erona

Erona is a tempermental mistress, as the goddess of storms she is often quick to anger and can be destructive in a fit of rage. Many often forget that Erona is also a nurturing force as she brings the waters of Earendil, God of the Seas to the crops and people of the world to nurture their crops and ensure their livelihoods. She is the direct opposite of her sister Shirus, Goddess of Clouds in most things and yet the two are never apart, some believe this to be the reason for the eternal storms that plague a region of the oceans of Glenerene, that that is the chosen field that Erona expresses her irritation with her sister's naivete and innocence.

Divine Domains

"Do not fear the storms of fate, for even at her most destructive Erona brings necessary change and opportunity." Daughter of Storm, Sherra Talon
The goddess of tempests, Erona's divine rule is over all storms, be those wind, thunder, rain, sand, or fate. She is known for being tempermental and volatile though never without reason. The domain of storms is a tumultuous one, full of care and nurture but also righteous fury capable of tearing away at the very mountains and to put out even the most fierce of fires or stoke the flames higher still. To those that know how to read the clouds and the winds there is ample warning of her actions.

Holy Books & Codes

Followers of Erona tend to follow a book called the 'The Way of the Storm' which directs her followersto accept change in all of it's forms and seek inner peace in themselves first and foremost. It demands a general rejection of personal wealth and instead the pursuit of experience and inner happiness.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The compass rose is often a symbol that is associated with Erona. As it often is used to denote the winds of fate a concept that is attributed to her.

Tenets of Faith

  • Do not place the happiness of yourself or the measure of your success in material objects, but rather place such things in yourself.

  • Keep only what you must to survive, true peace is found in the self.

  • Be steadfast against the storms of change and do not bow to the obstacles in life.

  • Hold each other to a higher standard and uplift one another in all things.

Trials of Faith:

Erona demands three things of those who seek to be Sons or Daughters of Storm. She demands proof of their faith in the form of the completion of three tasks.

  • The first tasks is to rid oneself of all material wealth and belongings without regret.

  • Complete a pilgrimage to the Temple of Eternal Storms, and remain in prayer and solitude for a month.

  • Dedicate ones self to the faith and to guiding others in their pursuit of inner peace and happiness.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Her goals are unknown as they tend to be as ever changing as her mood and the storms she controls. She is attributed the idea of the winds of fate which many believe means she has a plan and knows the ultimate calling of all living things. Though if this is true or not is unknown and she has little to no direct involvement in the mortal realm beyond accompanying her sister.
