The oldest known Yulani cities are believed to have arisen within this timeframe, predominantly along the south central coast of the Aeillan region. The Yulani are believed to have originated in Leandris as nomadic seafaring peoples who plied the Yulan Ocean, fishing for survival, or, less likely to have come from further over the sea in northern Felora. In either case, they are commonly accepted to have been forced to leave their homeland, likely due to environmental factors, and arrived in southern Aeilla settling down and establishing maritime cities dedicated to trade and fishing along the coast of southern Galisea.   Exact dates are unknown in almost all cases, but study of remaining records and archaeological evidence indicates that Yulani settlements appeared over the course of a few centuries becoming increasingly interlinked during this period, but not coalescing into a single civilization until well after this time period. Early Yulani culture is believed to have been drastically different than later culture with ruins abandoned during this period (and thus lacking in later cultural hallmarks) show no evidence of traditional Yulani hallmarks such as slavery, serpentine artistic motifs, and a stronger communitarian emphasis with common spaces and shared homes being the norm.
