1st of Tanas, 839 FI
Honorable Queen Gisela Williams,
I sincerely wish that this correspondance finds you in good health. Word has finally reached the winds of Taria that tensions between your great nation and Harald's have reached an all-time high since the beginning of your horrible war almost 300 years ago. Word has passed through to my court that you may intend to go to war with Harald and his empire, especially after the horrors that happened recently in Calathis.
However, as the leader of a neighboring nation, I would strongly advise declaring war against Harald and Kenereth as a whole. If you declare such a war, many other states must also go to war, which would shatter our already fragile international alliances and bring the lives of millions to an end, which will only make Harald's atrocities worse. The people of Calathis will be immediately spurned alongside Kenereth, and the Hammers of Kurn Darum would most likely join with Harald. Lunaeris and Shentea will most likely attempt to remain as outside the conflict as possible, as will I, for the safety of my people. From this, you are vastly outnumbered, even despite the marvels of your strange technology, and atrocities from all sides would be myriad.
All this to say, the decision to go to war is ultimately yours, but it may mean the end of your kingdom and the loss of potentially millions of lives should it occur. And there may be no Treaty of Brekar this time, as there is a high chance that Harald fully annexes your territory, expanding his empire and committing more terrible genocides against not only the Calathians, but your people as well. There are better ways to stop Harald, but war is not the way. To discuss such methods and include other nations, I have sent many foreign ministers from other nations to discuss the problem with Kenereth, and solutions we can implement to reduce their foothold over the international stage. I implore you to attend the meeting at 1000 BST in the Throne Hall of Castle Faulhauber on the 17th of Tanas this year.
I hope to see you soon,
Margravine Viviane Faulhauber
