The Chimeran Magisterium
The Chimeran Magisterium is a conclave of powerful magic-users that are working in conjunction with the rule of The Metropolites and the city councils of the Eight States of Chronan. They are not official members of the government or the clergy, but they are often used as advisors and consultants in matters of the arcane.
The operations of the Magisterium are veiled in secrecy. It is said they chose to name themselves after the multi-headed monstrosity since they are independent individuals with varying talents working together. Multae Mentes, Unum Corpus, "many minds, one body", is their motto. The members call each other Magisters, and some - though not all - use that honorific in public as well.
The exact number of their rank is unknown, but the members operate in every state in Chronan, often in high places. Even though the Magisterium is not known to have official headquarters or organization under them, most of the Magisters have underlings and hired armies of their own.
Suspicious minds whispers that the Chimeran Magistrate is trying to push their own agenda by aligning so closely with The Metropolites. The secret practices of the Magisters have raised doubt that not everything they do follow the teachings of The Order. Some claim they work to restore the ancient magocracies that ruled Chronan before the Steaming Age.
