Ruler of Mandor
The problem with Mandor is it's an empire but it's not ruled by an Emperor or Empress. Instead it has gone through many variations of rule. Including the trio the duo and the singular leader Queen or King and all these varations lead back to the same thing a ruler of the largest continent on Gandrain and the most powerful that is when it choses to care about the outside world. The rulers of Mandor where first a means to unite a operated land but know they are known as the most powerful people in the world and that title is not given lightly.
Qualifications
No actual knowledge is needed to take up the post but one must be given the brooch that once was Maria's or else not be ruler.
Requirements
To become the ruler of Mandor one must either be a dependent of Maria or married to one. Over time the specific gender of a ruler has changed first all rulers where female then that shifted for a time it was required there be two rules one female one male and soon it became rulers where male though there is nothing specific in any text that says this it is a silent rule that acts constantly through the generations until it is once again changed.
Appointment
There is a brooching ceremony that must take place in the Canyon Hall.
Duties
The ruler is required to take care of the people of Mandor and though over the ages th vow has faded Maria did original say the Empires purpose was to stop slavery wherever it may lie. However with the passing of time the origins goals of the consolidated power where forgotten.
Responsibilities
On the Daily the ruler must mediate the Kingdom and use taxes to fund advancements and measures to make people equal.
Benefits
Living in Locus Amoenus, riches, protection, power, fame. Though the rank was once one of service to the people and its power comes from that idea it has come to be a symbol of sovereignty instead and even dominance.

The ruler is of course given all of Maria's brooches expect for her burial brooch and these signify what duty they are carrying out or that they are the ruler.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
There was never a system besides willingly stepping down or death devised for the removal of the ruler. Yes this is a problem.
Cultural Significance
Mandorians know the title as the person hat rules them but around the world the titles meaning is that of power and fear of that power. Mainly Mandor is an isolated place that does little else then trade keeping out of wars and serving as a place for those who wish to live in peace to go to however people are also aware that Mandor functions under a different system then their own as the largest landmass in the world and holy ruled by one person they fear the power of the place if it ever where to engage in battle as it did under the Queen of Wrath and many try to avoid bringing the common wars to its shores like the pledge.
