Lucrum Aurum
The island of Lucrum Aurum is barren in the most literal of senses. Nothing grows there, not even moss on the rock forests. Yet the island is not uninhabited. Lucrum Aurum is one of the wealthiest islands there is with one of the lowest population sustaining resources. Human's however are relentless and like the dragon who once called the island home they refuse to leave the hordes of buried gold, and jewels that can be found in its landscape. The high reaching landscape allows for a very hostile environment and the Isle itself is unkind however it does host a small coral reef that protects a small cove leading into the most profitable harbor in the world.
Geography
Most of Lucrum Aurum is mountain with a volcano mouth resting at the highest point. The harbor is only about a mile large and though small naturally protected by the islands coal reef that makes large ship passing impossible. Man made sand harbors branch out from the coral reef where ships dock. The mountains host complex cabe systems both from decades of mining and from the old dried out lava tunnels. The only habitual life exists in these tunnels outside of man made structures. The islands largest profit comes from gold, and other melts but they also produce, pearls and gems. The only fresh water found in all of the island's land mass is found in the underground springs that collect from rainfall that don't connect to the ocean at some point.
Fauna & Flora
The only known mammal to inhabit Lucrum are the Saudi these creatures tunnel through the mountains eating mineral and processing out portions such as bone worms and other small creatures. These are often encouraged for their ability to break through otherwise solid sheetrock and for their excriment which is used as a picking source for those who don't mine. The only common plants on Lucrum are small moss or algae pits that often glow in the dark. Providing glow rocks of all sizes and another very common export glow ink. The coral reef itself is full of life but the people try very har to protect it and its not often fished. The reef itself holds many interesting facts about the islands but its believed to be sacred so they are lost to the island inhabitants.
Natural Resources
Lucrum's curial rests wholly on trade. Without the ability to generate crops or other above ground flora the surface of the island is natural destitute. Though the people are adapt bird hunters, they can only do this during migration periods. These feathers are sold along with glow ink and luxury metals and gems in return the island trades for textiles, food, and other essentials. Though water sources are also smaller then other islands so Lucrum was forced to discover methods of cleaning water of salt and heating without a surplus of wood. because of this the Lucrum forges are renowned around the world as they perfected the art of fire.
