Yulianna
Yulianna, an initiate of the Sepulchre, walks the liminal space between dreams and reality with a quiet resolve. Her mortal form, still tethered to Galfin, is a tanned, guiding presence that bears the weight of her precognitive visions. Her dark hair shimmers faintly, as if kissed by the glow of the moon, while her silver blue eyes seem to peer beyond the veil of time. In the Weave, she serves as a guide in the city of Dawnlight, her voice soft but steady as she aids lost souls navigating the dreamscape. Though new to the faction, her intuition has quickly earned her respect, and her astral form radiates an unearthly calm.
Fly to the furthest point the Griffins can make it. They are strong flyers but the harsh eastern winds prove too much. Narissa and Sossari travel together to the dangerous salt scarred islands of the Doth Kai. The Sea People recognize the Pacuran King but have their own rituals and traditions. The Doth Kai welcome outsiders into their lands as they know that no one would conquer them for the resilience to nature keeps them safe, outsiders would drown in the undertow on their first day. They are able to house your animals and provide fresh caught fish caught in waters no one else would brave. Small homes shaped out of driftwood and coral, carved into natural erosion that the ocean grew tired of eating away. The people barely spoke common, their language is the precursor to the pirate salt-speech which was already hard to understand. While their griffins rested, Sossari, Narissa and a single Doth Kai guide named Yuliana ventured across the shamblely built stairs and bridges towards the distant Cave of Fates. The stairs and bridges were not ancient wonders, the Doth Kai fixed these steps with rope and driftwood as they completed their daily tasks in the harsh winds. They wore no shoes in the cold ocean mist as to feel the rocks beneath their feet with every step threatening to be their last.
All 3 had met circumstances where they almost died, washed away into the raging ocean. But with that, each of the trio proved their worth with their skills and abilities. Narissa was adept at tying knots from her griffin ranching days, these kept all three from rushing away with a great wave that struck them in their sleep. Yuliana rebuilt countless structures by pulling materials from the cold water below and resurfacing each time. Sossari did what she could to create earthen shelters as well as target the storm away from them on their journey but this weather would not bend fully, even to the goddess of air. Narissa was also great at keeping Sossari warm wherever they found reprieve from the constant storm.
A hard and strenuous journey completed at the peak of the island chain. A ruin on the Sundered Lands housed the Caves of Fate. You learned much from Yuliana about her people. They revere the sisters of the sea and sky because the people have withstood even with the dangerous torrents and winds that engulf them. It shapes them as a people, they live alongside the most dangerous of Sootha and Shoreez’ work. They do not speak common well, even the modern salt speak is derived from the Doth Kai but is nothing close to how they speak. In between words, they click their throats and screech, as well as tap on their bodies and others, each way meaning a different word and context. Their words are loud when spoken but they are people of traditions and duties so not much speaking is done on the daily fishing in the blasting waves. Yuliana spent some years on Zephyr in her youth so she at least understands common better than most. The three of you enter the Cave of Fates. You take some time to recover and rest before exploring this dense cave system.
Inside this Cave the weather was finally calm, at least in part of it. The centre of this cavern there was a thunderstorm raging, unnatural as it shot hurricane force winds, ice cold rain and lightning all around the cavern. In the centre was a turtle shell carved with the rune of Skiron, the Martyr of Storms and Fate, the artifact was placed in a hanging stalactite over a pool of water. Once you entered the main cavern, the storm began attacking you. Small sharp rocks jut out from the water below, allowing the whirlpool to careen you into an impaled death. The first bolt struck in between the trio and Yuliana was blasted into the current, immediately sinking under the waves. A large being formed from the elements and a personification of Skiron themself appeared before you. Sossari and Narissa leapt from rock to rock, tethering the god-like aspect to the rocks nearby, Narissa’s tether had metal woven into it as to not break at high speeds while griffin riding. This stops the electrical strike as the energy flowed into the rocks instead. Sossari caught sight of Yuliana alive clinging onto a rock, the aspect of Skiron recognized Sossari’s power and was focussing on her, seemingly as a test. Sossari yelled for Narissa to save Yuliana. Unfortunately this meant untethering the metal line and allowing Skiron to use his lightning again.
Narissa swung down and grabbed their fallen Doth Kai and Sossari stood against the child deity of Shoreez. With a large blast, electricity surged from the beast and connected with Sossari’s staff. For a moment the Skystaff Sossari wields had the rune of Skiron carved into through lightning heat but it began to fade away. She focussed on this power, almost being shown to her by Skiron and for a moment felt the power of a full strength Shoreez. Sossari sizzled with electricity as wings of lightning spread from her back and lifted into the air, pointing her Skystaff at Skiron. Electricity surged back as the water crashed violently. Narissa and Yuliana were swept under the waves.
The beast was overpowered as Shoreez unrelented with electricity. Sossari caption control of the being’s storm cloud and brought more lightning down onto Skiron. The beast stayed floating in its form of storm and rain but it’s body calmed for a moment as it took a moment to recover. Sossari used her lightning wings to cross the cave and fly towards the artifact in the centre. Her extra energy began to fade and she dropped right before making it to the Center pedestal, her wings of lightning were gone. Just as she dropped, the aspect of Skiron reawakened and started charging up. Sossari was holding onto the pedestal, she had used mold earth to latch onto the stalactite. She climbed up and grabbed the carved runic shell just as Skiron turned to grab her with his electrified hand. As Sossari grabbed the artifact, Skiron faded away, his body began to spin and twist together, in a tornado like form this current of rain and lightning carved the full rune into the Skystaff and sizzled with a spark. The waters of the cavern began to drop, magically disappearing. At the bottom lay many bones of adventurers past and two unconscious friends of Sossari. She leapt down to them and neither was breathing, no heartbeat. Electricity charged in Sossari’s eyes as her staff had two balls of electricity form at each end. She placed the staff between them and shocked their lifeless bodies. Both of their hearts were jump started and they began coughing up water. Narissa pushed herself up and a small amount of electricity formed on her fingers. Yuliana’s eyes were glossed over as she placed her hand in the ground, water nearby attracted to her hand like a magnet, then suddenly a branching pattern of the water spread out from her palm. She mumbled to herself about things yet to be. Her eyes returned back and she looked confused. It seems Sossari gave each of them some power from Skiron. One holds the Storm in their hand and the other sees Fates.
Another long walking journey to return to the village. Each of your new powers helped get you back safer. Yuliana seemed so overconfident with her steps, even when it seemed risky. She just kept saying “Don’t fret, this is not yet how we die” you return to griffins.
Yuliana is a striking figure, standing tall and proud with her lean build and muscular physique. Her skin is a deep bronze, her hair long and dark blonde, and her eyes a piercing blue that seem to look straight through you. She wears traditional Doth Kai clothing, consisting of a simple tunic and pants made from seaweed fiber, with a fish leather vest and bracers.
As a Doth Kai, Yuliana is an expert swimmer and navigator, with an intimate knowledge of the sea and its many dangers. She is skilled in the use of tridents and harpoons, and is a formidable fighter both on land and in the water.
Yuliana's experience on Zephyr and her newfound ability to see into the future have given her a unique perspective on the world, and she often speaks in cryptic riddles and metaphors. She is a valuable asset to any team venturing into the Sundered Lands, as she can often foresee dangers and potential obstacles before they arise.
Doth Kai who helped Sossari and Narissa. Spent time on Zephyr and speaks some common.
Gained future sight, images in streams of water, when she went to the Cave of Fates with Sossari.
Yulianna the Loomborn
A spectral projection of a mortal whose body still lives in the waking world, Yulianna serves as a guide and seer. She speaks cryptically of the Lucidity’s plans and the Dream Herald’s betrayal, hinting at a greater struggle that lies ahead. She reveals that King, the missing Gnarl brother, was last seen with a group of Milkthistle Foragers, fleeing with an ancient artifact known as the Orbicus.
Loomborn Yulianna walks the thin thread between the waking world of Galfin and the boundless realm of dreams. An initiate of the Sepulchre, she discovered her precognitive gift early, though it came not in waking flashes but within the surreal clarity of dreams. Her visions drew her into the Sepulchre’s ranks, where she sought to hone her ability to glimpse the future and guide others through the complex tapestry of time.
In the mortal realm, Yulianna is a woman of quiet strength. Her earthy features—bronze skin weathered with years of determination, chestnut hair streaked with the silver of sleepless nights—betray a life spent bridging the mundane and the mystic. She still walks the soil of Galfin, her waking body carrying the weight of duty while her mind reaches far beyond.
Within the Weave, Yulianna’s astral self is luminous and commanding, her form draped in shifting, iridescent robes that seem spun from the very strands of the realm. In Dawnlight, she serves as a guide for dreamers, leading them safely through its prismatic cityscapes and shielding them from the interlopers of the Lucidity. Her voice is calm but laced with urgency, for Yulianna knows the stakes are higher than ever.
The theft of the Orbicus of Sleep has left the dreamers stranded, their waking bodies in a deathly trance. Yulianna feels the weight of this crisis keenly, knowing that without intervention, their mortal forms will perish, leaving their astral selves shattered and mindless—a fate worse than death. She moves tirelessly through Dawnlight, her silver eyes searching for answers hidden in the folds of the Weave.
Though new to the Sepulchre, Yulianna’s resolve burns fiercely. Her dreams have always been her guide, but now, with the threads of fate fraying around her, she must find a way to weave a new future—one where the trapped can awaken, the Orbicus can be reclaimed, and the fragile balance between realms can be restored. For her, failure is not an option; the lives of countless dreamers, and perhaps the Weave itself, depend on her.
