Magda Nuada
The White Raven, a figure shrouded in myth and fear. Mentioning her name is forbidden, and her influence lingers like a dark shadow over Clarion.
Magda Nuada, once the revered Provincial Lady of Duntaluum and the compassionate leader of Clarion, was a beacon of fairness and grace. Known as the White Raven, her reign was marked by an unwavering commitment to justice and a deep connection with her people. Despite numerous attempts on her life, Magda remained steadfast, her resolve and kindness never wavering. Her tenure was a contrast to the tumultuous relationship with her son Bres, who felt increasingly neglected as Magda focused on her duties. Bres and his sister Alma were both drawn to the ancient Fonari cultures of their ancestral land, Fogholt, but it was Bres’ obsession with its hidden laws and secretive ways that drove him to a dark path. He learned of the Masok Konsul and became enamoured with their secretive ways and adversity to the prying eyes of the gods.
When Bres’s romantic relationship with his tutor, Nymia, was discovered, Magda’s decision to exile Nymia led to a rift that Bres could not forgive. Fueled by resentment and a desire to restore the old ways of Fogholt, Bres orchestrated a violent coup. Under the guise of the Hollow Priests, he waged a covert war against his mother’s rule, gathering support from disillusioned factions. One fateful night, after poisoning Magda and paralyzing her, Bres enacted a grim ritual, contorting her body into a grotesque symbol of the old ways.
The dawn revealed the horrifying sight of Magda’s desecrated remains, and the city mourned the loss of a beloved leader. Bres, now self-proclaimed ruler and the new Unna Maska, imposed his vision upon Clarion and the province, ushering in a new era marked by strict laws and the resurgence of ancient customs of the Masok. The city, yearning for the kindness of their lost White Raven, faced a harsh new reality under Bres' iron grip.
was killed splayed on a bird statue by her nephew Bres Nuada.
