Kaerndal Hold

stronghold in Klayford   Kaerndal Hold is a stout stone fortification located on a small hill overlooking the town of Klayford. The walls are made of thick gray stone and are reinforced with sturdy wooden supports. The gatehouse is a formidable structure with a heavy iron portcullis and an imposing stone archway. Inside the walls, there are barracks, armories, and stables, as well as a central keep where the Lord of Klayford could take refuge in case of an attack.   The surrounding grasslands are dotted with watchtowers that provide early warning of any approaching enemy forces. The area around the hold is also heavily patrolled by the Flatland Militia, a well-trained force made up of local farmers and tradesmen who have been called upon to defend their homes in times of war.   Kaerndal Hold is not without its aesthetic charms. Its walls are adorned with intricate carvings of the local flora and fauna, and the battlements offer a stunning view of the surrounding countryside, with rolling hills and fields stretching out as far as the eye can see.
