Raglan “Rattlejack”

Gnarl Father

Biological parent of Gnarl “King”   Rattlejack, once a renowned courier of the famed Chickadees, made his name darting across the precarious rooftops and cluttered alleyways of Goblintown in Silvermound. His wiry frame and keen reflexes were legendary among the city's runners, but those days were stolen from him when a desperate debt spiraled out of control. Crippling injuries left him grounded, his legs mangled by enforcers who came to collect payment he couldn’t give. Now confined to the dim, chaotic streets he once soared above, Rattlejack leans on a rusted crutch, his sharp green eyes still scanning every corner with the instincts of a courier.   His four sons, led by the eldest, King, rally to keep their father fed and sheltered. Each of them took pieces of Rattlejack’s old craft—speed, wit, luck, and tenacity—turning their inherited skills into odd jobs to scrape by. Though burdened by guilt for the danger his debts brought upon them, Rattlejack never stops encouraging his boys to rise above the streets, to find paths of their own. His voice, rough but steady, carries lessons learned from a lifetime of running—lessons that continue to shape the family’s unyielding bond.
