Crowsfeet

Gibbous Crowely (a.k.a. Crowsfeet)

The windriders are the elite military force of Nesthaven; home to all featherbloods. Mainly consisting of high eagles, hawken and bicardins, Crow the ravenheart was an anomaly at the windrider training school. The featherblood race has been used as slaves by the black sun elves for decades and the windriders seek to end the terror. Located deep within the dense forests of Nesthaven, the ceremony to bring the trained commoner into the rank of the elite soldier was taking place. The student known as Crow was an excellent pupil, but had a small flaw; he loved to steal. During the graduation ceremony a general named Skyflyer stepped forward to congratulate the soon-to-be windriders. He was a larger featherblood of high eagle heritage, carried dual long swords at his side and a halberd sheathed on his back, half hidden by his silky feathers. The general was distinguished and knew that others sought to be in his place. A small silver ring was tied to a string around Skyflyer's neck; small sapphires were just visible on the rim of the treasure. As the general slowly moved down the line of windrider prospects he finally stopped at Crow. Sweat was running down the student's beak, not because of nervousness, but because his urge to steal was becoming too much to contain. As Skyflyer reached into his pouch to grab Crow's letter of acceptance, the thief took advantage of the general's misdirection and grabbed for the ring. A fight broke out and Crow was easily subdued. Each of his classmates eager to prove their worth to the windriders, they helped capture the crook. Crow was incarcerated for three months until the very general that he stole from showed up. A delicate job needed to be performed and the disgruntled Skyflyer felt a low life like Crow would be perfect for the possibly suicidal mission. "If you agree to help us, I will let you free. All you have to do is spy on our enemies and steal some attack plans. Simple" The high eagle declared. "Nothing is simple" Crow retorted. Crow wasn't stupid, he almost graduated at the top of his class, and would be a great military strategist if it wasn't for his record. Crow knew that the general wouldn't allow him to leave the prison unless he was going to die on one of his missions. Impulsively, Crow quickly raised his voice and screamed at Highflyer. "You expect me to be your pet? Sacrificing myself to try and get you some sort of military advantage over those damned black sun elves!" A few more windriders came into the jail, lured by the yelling. "Calm down Crow, you are blowing this way out of proportion. I'm offering you a way out! If you don't settle down I'll let these windriders aggressively sedate you." Crow, feeling cornered, reached through the bars and grabbed the general's neck, strangling him. "Gahhh! Let go criminal!" Skyflyer yelled as Crow choked him. The guards opened the jail and circled Crow; they merclessly beat him. After catching his breath and letting the beating carry on further than needed Skyflyer stepped forward. "That is enough." the guards stopped the beatdown. "Was that really worth it Crow? You are doing nothing but moving further away from your freedom. All you have to do is be the sneaky, deceitful thief that you are; and after a few missions, we may let you out." Skyflyer said with a hint of regret in his voice. "May let me out?" Crow grunted. "If the loot you take does not further the windriders in the war against those wretched elves than no, you will not be set free." Skyflyer blatently declared. "What possible advantage would doing these suicidal missions gain me?." Crow questioned. "A clean slate to do with as you will. After an amount of retreival missions I deem suitable, than you may be let out to continue your petty, meaningless life." Skyflyer answered. "Simple as that?" Crow cautiossly asked "Nothing is simple." Skyflyer said with a slight smirk. After a long period of thought, Crow reluctantly agreed to the general's terms, the thief was released with a list of objects he was supposed to obtain to help in the war against the black sun elves. Crow was not a violent featherblood, his intentions are always for the bigger score. As Crow walked away from the windrider stronghold, he pulled the silver ring that was laced with sapphires off his finger and triumphantly tossed it up to himself. If he wanted to kill Skyflyer he could have, but Crow was no murderer and was just after the treasure. With a ring worth enough to get him out of his petty, meaningless life and a treasure list in his pouch, the petty thief became a regret for general known as Skyflyer, moving himself up to the windriders most wanted.   light footed   The Lonely   flyer silent fearful treacherous 34 Killed by group of orcs while on a job to steal Kronimane's staff.
