Broken Shield Hold
old stronghold of the Enclave, now derelict
This stronghold is now derelict but once a base for the honorable Merkaynian Enclave. They lost this stronghold centuries ago and it has fallen into disarray. Now it is used by the local ogre communities who use it as a home. That is until the rival tribes came in to destroy the ogres here. Now the hold sits empty, withering away with time as the surrounding swamp slowly takes back over.
The Broken Shield Hold is a gloomy and desolate place, situated deep in the heart of the swampy lowlands. The stronghold itself is in a state of decay, with many of its walls and towers crumbling away. The air is thick with the stench of damp earth and stagnant water, and the sound of buzzing insects fills the air. The ground is soft and muddy, making it difficult to move around quickly. The few remaining structures still standing are overgrown with vines and moss, and their wooden beams creak and groan in the wind. It is said that the spirits of the fallen Merkaynian warriors still haunt this place.
