The Jade Sea
Geography
The Jade Sea region is bordered by several continents. The waters of the sea itself are fairly warm, and play host to a wealth of coral reefs. Compared to the other oceans of Galactus, the Jade Sea is fairly shallow and has an average depth of about a mile. Strong currents travel from the eastern mouth and flow through the sea, splitting around the center to continue to the northern and western mouths.
Bordering Countries and Territories
Judera: South Skolia, North Skolia, and Oflij border the Jade Sea from south to north. Qoptih: Mistfall, Balihr, and Osna all border the Jade Sea on Qopith. Other Islands: The Jade Sea is also home to the islands of Ansrivarr, Isix, Kethendia, Eruth, and Creth. While these islands are not considered nations because they do not have unified governments, most are home to unique cultures that cannot be found anywhere else in Galactus, for example the dragonborn tribes of Kethendia.Climate
The Jade Sea is located on the equator, and as such has generally warm weather, with little differences in the length of daylight between seasons. Warm, wet air flows from west to east, causing rain to fall quite often on the western coast of Judera, over the sea itself, and on Creth. Eruth and most of Osna, however, are quite dry.
During the summer cycles, the Jade Sea experiences a wet season with monsoons, and during the winter months a dry season with only occasional rains. The only exception to the natural weather cycles in the Jade Sea is Oflij, which experiences cold weather year-round, with snow being the primary form of precipitation. In popular belief, it is the result of a curse placed on the land's founders by the deity of winter, Metsli. However, since the time of the Vanishing, Oflij has slowly and nearly imperceptibly begun to warm, leading to some concern about the future of the unique ecosystem which has developed in Oflij over millennia.
