A Beginner's Guide to Kethendian Cuisine

"So you've decided to venture into the culinary world of Kethendia! Welcome, and be ready to cook up a dragon's helping of these traditional Kethendian dishes. From each of the dragonborn tribes, and from the ancient ruins of Silvermere, you'll be serving up unique and delicious dishes for friends and family. So put on that apron, chef, and be prepared for a fantastical feast!"

A Beginner's Guide to Kethendian Cuisine is a cookbook written by Belgar Shieldbreaker, a dragonborn from the island of Kethendia. It introduces the reader to many traditional dishes from the region, coupled with lengthy descriptions of each dish's origin and the dragonborn clans in general.

Belgar was born and raised on Shieldbreaker Mountain, but left when he reached adulthood to explore the rest of the world. Firstly, he visited each dragonborn tribe, to varying degrees of success, then hitched a ride on a merchant vessel headed for the mainland. But after a few months abroad, Belgar began to miss the home-cooked meals of his homeland. Belgar began experimenting with the recipes he could recall, working at them until each perfectly mirrored the dishes in his memory, and wrote down each so that they could be replicated. In doing so, Belgar discovered a love for cooking and sharing the foods in every culture which bring folk together.

A Beginner's Guide to Kethendian Cuisine walks the reader through appetizers, main and side dishes, desserts, drinks, and even snacks. Each recipe has a story to go along with it, explaining how this dish was made or its significance in Kethendia. Belgar explores recipes unique to each dragonborn clan, from the subterranean ingredients of the Icetalons to the complex flavor combinations of the Moonriders. The cookbook even takes special notice of dishes from each clan which are very similar, and those dishes whose recipes seem to reach all the way back to SIlvermere. By exploring the cuisine of the vastly different clans, Belgar actually tries to bring to light and explore how the clans are similar to one another and how their shared ancestry brings them closer together than one may expect.
