Siathan

Siathans are a species of sapients native to Khalnar and the only intelligent species native to the Trigar system.

Naming Conventions

Primary Name

Primary or first names are generally unique to a person, save for the last two letters, which indicate their order of birth in relation to their siblings and their gender, respectively.

Secondary Name

Secondary or last names are comprised of two parts, the first two or three letters being an indicator of the city of birth, and the rest of the name being the primary name of a notable ancestor. Generally these ancestors are ones that have accomplished a signficant feat or established the family's legacy in some way or another. Generally, this is inherited from the mother's side.

'esKryian' - Used by members of the Siathan Royal Family, indicating that they are born in Esian and their ancestor of note is Kryian

Changing Names

As names are influenced by gender, birth order, family legacy and city, the process of changing a name can be rather involved. The most simple name change is generally just changing an individual's primary name while retaining their gender and birth order.
