HMLI Suit

The Helldiver Mechanized Light Infantry Suit is a type of small mech suit designed and used by the Onyx Verge. They are specialized for elite units acting in squads of three or four and are equipped with mobility enhancing jump jets that allow them to leap across entire chasms.

Power Generation

The Helldiver suit used a singular fusion power core on the user's back. It has an excellent power capacity but charges slowly so as to not endanger the user should it take damage. This means that the two power draining pieces of equipment -the jump jets and laser cannon- almost totally drain the power core, requiring a five-to-ten second pause before either can be used again.

Propulsion

The unit's jump jets are very powerful and the suit is designed to be able to handle the g-forces that they can output. Pilots have to be specially trained to sustain bursts of up to 15G's lest they pass out from the launch and fail to land.

The suits are also equipped with various dampners and relatively powerful gliding apperatus meaning that they can maximize the range of their jump jets by leaping from heights without worrying about destroying the suit on impact with the ground.

Weapons & Armament

The Helldiver's main weapon is a high powered laser canon mounted as the suit's right arm. It is said that shot from it can practically disintegrate a gravtank and its wide-beam mode is a death sentence to any small infantry unit.

Due to the laser cannon's limited usability, the helldiver suit is also equipped with a slamm-arms assault rifle mounted in the left wrist. This can be used when the laser cannon is recharging or while the jump jets are operating.

Armor and defense

Due to their flight capability and heavy armament, the Helldiver's armour is relatively light. It is still a mech suit so it is very resilient to small arms fire but anything beyond that puts the pilot at extreme risk.

Additional & auxiliary systems

In the left hand of the helldiver unit there is a powerful gripping claw. Initially it was intended to be used as a melee weapon against other mechanized hardware should the helldivers be caught unawares, but the pilots ingeniously started using them to grip onto large structures after the use of their jump jets. This gave them complete domination over the third dimention in most combat situations and was such an unforseen benefit that future units were equipped with a grappling claw which takes the place of the left hand.
