World tree
While its origins are unknown, the world tree is what makes all of reality possible.
it is a massive creation spanning throughout all of this existence. it is not in 1 piece the way we would see it, instead it is connected to itself through portals. The world tree is split up across reality through those portals. it is why if you know how to use it, it can be 1 of the most efficient ways to travel through existence.
The world tree also carries souls; not all of the branches carry souls, in fact most don’t, and the ones that do are protected by the angels, in order to stop people from taking them.
The branches by base move in space like other objects, their mass isn’t insane but they are basically indestructible, at least no normal collision will even cause damage to them. Quite a lot of important branches are being held stationary by magic from angels to make them easier to protect.
The world tree also seems to be the origin of all Souls and all Life energy in existence.
Geography
The tree is a immense system of "branches'' that are only connected to eachother by portals. The tree when somebody looks at it isn't connected to eachother but it has various portals all over it that lead to other branches. these branches float all over the astral sea. Not all branches have Souls on them. Most actually don't. Because of the portals the world tree is often accociated with traveling between worlds. The world tree doesn't really look like a tree, it does have a roughly tree like texture but it constantly shifts color and from afar emits a bright starlight. The brances move in patterns across that astral sea. these patterns are what people see as stars in the sky. Throughout planes in the world tree's domain like Gajas, the Feywild or the Elemental Planes it is hard but possible to find braches of the world tree underground that can be used for teleportation.
Ecosystem
Since the world tree originally contained all Life energy and Souls it is brimming with energy and power ready to be tapped into. The "upper" branches that have the souls attached to them like leaves to a tree are as a result guarded by Angels so that nobody may tap into the potential of so many empty souls together.
