B&T Chapter 4: The Librarian Who Couldn't Read

General Summary

Everyone meets up and gets in the Draconic War Carriage (Balcazar, Noyla, Draconius, Sharpjaw, Master Obu, & Fork). Synok & the Guard Drake pilot the carriage. Everybody relaxes with Swamp Diesel and gets a long rest
Everyone rolls for the Level 6 HP increase:

• Balcazar: 8 HP, 46 HP total
• Noyla: 5 HP, 30 HP total
• Draconius & Fork: already rolled, both at 39 HP
• Sharpjaw: 6 HP, 43 HP total
• Master Obu: 6 HP (I think), 33 HP total

They arrive five days later and step out of their transport. They walk up and notice a broken statue of a humanoid, heavily inspecting it but coming up short on explanations. Draconius eventually smacks the titty off and destroys the statue.
Fork leads the way as the crew walks into the library, old but beautiful. Foyer is riddled with draconic designs.
Scour the vast room of books beyond the foyer and find knowledge:

• Balcazar - "Dysterio's Alchemic Wonder", a brief manuscript written by Dysterio the Shrewd
• Noyla - "Draek's Anatomy", a draconic medical journal written by Salvara Draek (includes two draconic spells)
• Draconius - "The Gigadragonomy", current map of Vulsemar, and Medusa's autobiography

Sharpjaw summons Lamarva and has him play with another, complete humanoid statue they found. Balcazar Arcana checks dafuq out of its and learns that its a petrified humanoid, not a statue.
Everyone meets Queen Medusa, she explains her tragic life story and then declares the group to be her subjects.

Round 1

• Synok: 27 to Medusa
• Sharpjaw & Lamarva: Hunter's Mark & two glaive slashes, 17 slashing damage. Lamarva attacks and misses. Backs up and brings Lamarva.
• Master Obu: Guiding Bolt for 16 radiant damage, then backs up into the aisle
• Draconius: Uses Dharak's blood to summon 4 lesser demons: 2 manes & 2 dretches (manes have 9 HP each and 9 AC, dretches have 18 HP and 11 AC). Attacks with pact weapon and does 17 bludgeoning damage
• Queen Medusa: Stone Screech (petrifies Draconius & the demons), then does 16 damage (6 piercing and 10 poison) to Sharpjaw
• Noyla & Guard Drake: Moonbeams the fuck out of Medusa for 12 radiant damage, then turns into a bear
• Fork: 9 damage to Medusa and spends a ki point for Flurry of Blows for 5 damage. Gets extra attack for 9 damage for 23 total. Steps 5 ft away and behind her.
• Balacazar: 16 fire damage from Firebolt, launches Madrakor's Gauntlet but misses, does 7 necrotic damage with Hex and causes her to have disadvantage on Strength rolls. Calls his gauntlet back and moves behind the bookcase
• Manes & Dretches: petrified

Round 2

• Synok: 22 damage with arrows
• Sharpjaw & Lamarva: Slashes twice but misses, Lamarva strikes for 4 damage and they both move back
• Master Obu: Sacred Flame but misses.
• Draconius: Eldrich Blast but misses, then yells out "Help Me!" as he turns to stone.
• Queen Medusa: Acid Splash at Master Obu for 6 acid damage, then Snake Hairs Fork for 16 damage. Stone Subjects Draconius and the demons
• Noyla & Guard Drake: Bites and slashes for 8 slashing damage. Guard Drake smacks with tail for 7 damage
• Fork: Punches and misses, uses a ki point to Flurry of Blows, but misses both. Attacks again and misses everything. Disengages naturally and runs away
• Balcazar: 17 fire damage with Firebolt, then shoots Madrakor's Gauntlet square in the face for 6 damage. Hexes but misses. Runs behinds the books
• Manes & Dretches: 5 damage from but Balcazar Hellish Rebukes for 4 fire damage. 5 damage from the Mane but gets Hellish Rebuked into oblivion with the other Mane

Round 3

• Synok: nods to Sharpjaw
• Sharpjaw & Lamarva: another glaive strike to end her and add a charge to the glaive. Draconius recovers from petrification and claims both Dharak's & Medusa's heads.

Aftermath

• Master Obu heals the crew.
• All investigate and find hella books. Draconius claims the Medusa head and tosses Dharak's, gets 1 vial of blood and another 3 vials of Medusa's. Medusa's can be used for petrification potions, while Dharak's can be used for demonic summons.
• Fork creates a Snake Liquor with the snake hair (item details written in Fork's character sheet)
• Master Obu collects books on histories all the different continents/countries (anytime an ability check is needed to recall information about the histories of the other continents and countries, Master Obu automatically passes)
• Balcazar finds draconic necromancy & draconic magic books (depths of Draconic Magic and its history, how it differentiates from normal magic. He will have advantage on all Arcana checks relating to Draconic magic and gains one Draconic Necromancy spell)
• Sharpjaw finds a Draconic Enslavement book detailing genocide and population control tactics used by the dragons during their reign of terror. Also finds a book on Dragonborn weaponry and how to make it (gives him proficiency in blacksmith's tools and the ability to forge/alter one weapon per day with Draconic Essense of user's choice)
• Noyla finds books on Rebuilding Societies After Decades of War (gives her the Peacekeeper feature) & Draconic Healing Rituals (gives her two new spells, included in Draek's Anatomy)

Rewards Granted

1. 5,000 XP to each player for defeating Queen Medusa
2. 1,000 XP to each player for ransacking the library of important knowledge
