B&T Chapter 10.5: Obu & Sharpjaw's Excellent Adventure

General Summary

Opening

• Master Obu turn in his chips (1,410 gp)
• Sharpjaw grabs Draconius and slings him over the shoulder and takes him back to the carriage, without turning his chips in
• Master Obu comes out to the carriage, does NOT retrieve or turn in his chips
• Sharpjaw grabs Draconius' chips and puts in his pocket with his chips (800 gp for Sharpjaw, 500 gp for Draconius)
• Master Obu fetches Fork and turns his chips (1,000 gp)
• Sharpjaw finds Balcazar and grabs his chips (1,090 gp). Cashed out (500 gp for Draconius, 800 gp for Sharpjaw, 1,090 gp for Balcazar)
• Stonius offers to watch the crew; Sharpjaw gives up his teammate's winnings so Stonius can distribute them (he does), but also swipes his sending stone
• Master Obu, Nolya and Sharpjaw approach the streets and talk to a guard for directions; finds the route but makes a potential enemy
• Makes their way to Druzer's Gold Mine; the guards don't let them in, so bloodshed occurs

• Master Obu: Swings at Guard 2 twice, only hits once for 7 bludgeoning damage
• Sharpjaw: Hunter's Mark as a Bonus Action on Guard 1, misses once with the Vine Whip but hits with the other. Does 7 slashing and petrifies Guard 1
• Nolya: Casts Polymorph (4th level spell) on Guard 2, he fails and is turned into a fat hog (Boar, AC 11, 11 HP)

Round 2

• Guard 1: Petrified
• Guard 2: Charge at Nolya and uses the Tusk for 3 piercing damage, knocks her to the ground
• Master Obu: Casts Sacred Flame (cantrip) on Guard 1 for 15 radiant damage
• Sharpjaw: Pulls out Greatsword and swings for the boar; 8 slashing damage
• Nolya: Gets up, moves behind Sharpjaw, and casts Flaming Sphere (2nd level spell), dropping Polymorph dealing 20 fire damage to Guard 1. Hurls at other Guard for 6 fire damage.

Round 3

• Guard 1: Depetrifies, then swings at Sharpjaw but misses
• Guard 2: Pulls out his crossbow, fires a round at Master Obu but it bounces off his shell. Fires Breath Weapon at Nolya, deals 6 fire damage and has her dress flare up
• Mater Obu: Casts Sacred Flame, but Guard 1 dodges
• Sharpjaw: Swings his Greatsword twice, hits once for 9 slashing damage
• Nolya: Casts Moonbeam (2nd level), Guard 1 fails the saving throw, takes 12 radiant damage. Kills the guard

Round 1

• Guard 2: Angrily runs at Sharpjaw for a crit, deals 21 slashing to Sharpjaw. Swings again but misses
• Master Obu: Swings twice with his quarterstaff, hitting once for 6 bludgeoning to Guard 2
• Sharpjaw: Switches Hunters Mark to Guard 2 as a Bonus Action, then swings twice but misses
• Nolya: Casts Healing Spirit on Sharpjaw, which is a squirrel that runs over his shoulders and heals 2d6+6 (17 HP headl to Sharpjaw)

Round 5

• Guard 2: Fires crossbow at Master Obu (misses), swings at Sharpjaw with shortsword for 9 slashing
• Master Obu: Casts Sacred Flame but missed
• Sharpjaw: Misses twice
• Noyla: Casts Breath Weapon for 7 poison damage

Round 6

• Guard 2: Runs to Master Obu (takes 9 slashing damage), but misses Obu and Obu misses him
• Master Obu: Quarterstaff swings for 8 bludgeoning
• Sharpjaw: Greatsword swings for 9 slashing damage, ending Guard 2
• Nolya: Casts Cure Wounds for 13 HP back to Sharpjaw. Master Obu Cure Wounds Sharpjaw for 8 HP

Aftermath

• Master Obu reads the Vuslemar book to learn about Druzer's layout
• Draconius comes to; sees a primal version of Balcazar running around the carriage. He casts Eldritch Blast to bust the door open, freeing Primal Balcazar. Stonius runs after him
• Nolya casts Find Traps (2nd level spell) and senses none
• Master Obu casting Guiding Bolt (2nd level spell) for 13 radiant
• Nolya casts Thorn Whip on the door for 3 damage
• Sharpjaw casts 4 total whip to the door
• They get the door open with his shield
• Master Obu prospects, finds gold & technology ore. Obu grabs a pickaxe and gets to work on the tech ore
• Sharpjaw blasts an explosive arrow for ore three times (3 ammo used)
• Draconius gets lost in the city twice. Master Obu, Sharpjaw & Nolya meet him at the carriage
• Sharpjaw stashes the gold ore in the BoneMobile, Obu stashes his ore in his shell
• Master Obu, Sharpjaw, Nolya, Draconius & Flurry stand guard over Fork, who slept soundly in the carriage. But after telling a city guardsman of their plans to get an ingot from the mines, disrespecting the guard, then killing two and breaking into the mine, are they really safe?
• Meanwhile, where are Balcazar & Stonius?
